The unsportsmanlike conduct call for hitting the punter late was simply a makeup decision to rationalize a call that shouldn't have been made. If a punter fumbles a snap and then runs outsde the hashmarks he is fair game, because the defense can't define his movements as a protected kicker. The contact by Delano Hill wasn't harsh, it was just late because he didn't touch the punt,. But you could tell as the play was observed by the calling officia, he responded to Hill's body language about hitting the punter, not because of the severity of contact.

Now, Harbaugh, who frequently overreacts to calls and last week overreacted to placement of the ball after a missed field goal because he was wrongly thinking about the pro rule, was correct in going crazy about the punter call. The body language of the calling official indicated that he knew he'd missed the call, and then the referee came over to claim that the hit itself superceded the other factors of the call. That's smart officiating but papered over a questionable call.

I have no clue what pass interference is anymore. The side judge had a poor angle and didn't see Darboh being held by the jersey, so Michigan didn't get a first down inside the 5. It was just inexcusable.

And I suspect that Michigan will send in the tapes of those plays to the conference for evaluation. The crew itself is automatically evaluated after every game. And this crew is supposedly one of the best in the conference. It worked a big SEC game just last week.

at the Big House.  Some of the non-calls where Michigan receivers were getting mugged were egregious and inexcusable.  Those referees should be disciplined.  They did miss one call where Desmond Morgan (I think it was him) blasted a receiver before the ball got there.  But, Michigan got the short end of calls all day.  What conference were these refs from? I hope they're not B10 refereees and we actually might see them again.

for being a Big Ten football official must be set unbelievably low.

That being said, NFL refs are incompetent buffons as well so if the NFL can't find anyone to properly offficiate the game, who can?

I would argue that every call should be reviewable except that hte Big Ten has consistently proven that their replay officials don't know the rules of football and can't be trusted to ever get anything right.

Harbaugh going ballistic on that bogus roughing the kicker call was exactly what this team needed. That was a major turning point. I think they may have gained 10 yards on offense after that. Totally fired the team up.

I watched the game at home, alone, on my laptop. About the end of the third quarter, I realized I was on the verge of tears. Tears of relief that I was enjoying watching our team. Bless you Jim Harbaugh.

I don't care about the competition. We never stopped a spread team. This is a statement game and credit goes to coaches. What an adjustment after the first drive. This would have never happened last year.

Harbaugh is the best. Braden got some nice push. I can see improvement OL, even against OSU.

Great adjustments. I love it.

who would play at Ohio State.  They said, at first, that the only one who could play would be Ben Braden, exactly the person viewed on UFR as an insoluble weakness.  He must have really responded well to coaching this past week!!!

I said I was anxious to see if Brian agreed since that would mean Braden is finally getting it.  Brian has shown enough gif's to show that Braden has been pretty bad in prior games so hearing Spielman say he thought Braden could start for Ohio State was kind of, you know, surprising.

The coaching was outstanding. Harbaugh had a great offensive game plan and was working the refs like a pro. Durkin made fantastic adjustments after the opening drive. The defense absolutely dominated the last 3 quarters.
