Highlighting the day, Michigan and The Players' Tribune will present Signing of the Stars, a live two-hour show from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. that will be streamed on TPT's website. Head coach Jim Harbaugh and a variety of sports figures, artists and celebrities will introduce the student-athletes who sign National Letters of Intent to attend the University of Michigan and play football for the Wolverines starting this fall.

Thought you meant Snyder's "State of the State" address and came here to (1) downvote for politics and (2) find out why on earth it would be on the Players Tribune. Instead, I am wrong--carry on . . .

Hope it will be available to stream after the fact. Some of us work for companies that don't treat signing day as a holiday. Crazy, I know.

So all dad rawk.  Bob Seger, Simon & Garfunkel, REO Speedwagon, and Gordan Lightfoot for every single announced commit.

Tell me that there will be at least 4 speakers. Here are the 3 that have been confirmed to me:

1) Derek Jeter

2) Hank Aaron

3) Michael Jordan

I know another athlete who has been approached to speak as well, and he was told by Harbaugh that these three will be joining. Take that for what it's worth.

Hank Aaron gave a talk at a tech conference I was at once.  You tend to think of Hank Aaron in reverent tones because of The Record.  But he had the greatest stories of just the regular stupid stuff ballplayers do through a 160+ game season.  He's a great story-teller.

If USC was allowed to have Tha Doggfather come to their practice sessions, then we're allowed to do this.

Wow, this is pretty exciting.  I've been impressed with The Players Tribune, even though it's a marketing tool.  I think it's going to continue to become a force in sports editorials and being the focal point of an innovative media experience is fantastic.  Perhaps it takes off and Michigan is known for having a NSD show on the site for years to come.  That can only help the brand.

Remember when it was a big damn deal to stream an all-day video of a fax machine for NSD?

Or even further back when National Signing Day was something you read about 2 weeks later in a 4 paragraph summary?  And you had no idea what date NSD actually was on.
