Is the Sherrone Moore vs Jesse Minter debate a false choice?

Assuming JH leaves, it seems likely he'd take Minter with him, making Sherrone the obvious successor (especially with DeBoer and Fisch off the table). However, I've seen many argue that Minter would be the better choice for HC due to the strength of the defense the last few years (not wrong!). Although, the offensive line play has been every bit as important.

Were Sherrone to be JH's handpicked successor -- and it seems pretty clear that he is -- wouldn't the Ravens/Michigan/Chargers (or Eagles?) partnership keep the Michigan NFL DC internship open anyway? I can't imagine the Harbaugh's (and Minter) wouldn't take care of Sherrone on this front if he was Jim's handpicked successor. And if that's the case, wouldn't Sherrone's game day HC wins over PSU and OSU, his relationship with the current players on the roster, and his ability to connect with high school and portal players make him every bit as strong (if not stronger) of a candidate than Minter?

For reference sake, Andy Staples has mentioned this very contingency here

What incentive does John Harbaugh have to continue helping the Michigan program after his brother no longer works here? I’m sure he has some positive feelings towards the program from his childhood, but those are definitely not the reason he has been helping us out.

Before the season started, most assumed Michigan's offense would be better than it's defense.  As we now know, the opposite happened this season.

I attribute Michigan's amazing defense this season to lots of factors, but the main factor is Minter.  He's the best coordinator at UM.

When elevating a coordinator to the HC spot, I prefer elevating a DC instead of an OC. I'd prefer to see Minter as UM's next HC rather than Sharrone.

Let me put it another way: after Harbaugh leaves in the next few days, losing which coordinator would be more damaging to Michigan's 2024 success: losing Minter, or losing Sharrone?  Minter > Sharrone.

Not sure why everyone is so quick to anoint Moore the HC if Harbaugh leaves.  Is he worth an interview - yes there are also others on the staff (Minter) who deserve a shot.  We didn't win the Natty this year because of our offense...it was our defense that DOMINATED.  There were plenty of times this year where the offense went stagnant for long stretches of time especially the last 3 games of the season (Iowa, Bama & Washington)..we had chances to put those teams away early and never capitalized on our opportunities.  Team 144 was such a well oiled machine...did Moore really have that much of an impact?  Or his he just getting the credit because he didn't screw it up?

Just saying please, please, please in the event that Jim leaves...let's conduct an actual search instead of jumping the gun.

Since DeBoer is off the table maybe we should finally give Mike DeBord his shot?    I kid. I would not count on getting another Raven;s coach.

No matter what happens, we will need a new DC.

Whether Harbaugh stays, whether Sherrone is the coach, or whether we have a new coach from the outside.

Minter is a hot commodity in the NFL.  He is going to go.

Farewell sweet prince, blessed bringer of Championships.

Honestly, I think JH thinks Minter is the better coach and plans to take Minter with him. He led a PR campaign for Sherrone dating back to last season saying he’d be an hc and made him the successor so he can take Minter with him with minimal outrage. I think it’s a chess move.
