THE Shane Morris Interview
Here's the interview I did with Shane Morris this week. I think it really answers a lot of the questions that people have about Shane. In talking to him, I feel like he's aware of what lies in front of him and has the right support system surrounding him. In short, he should be great. Here it is, hope you enjoy: Shane Morris

He seems like a pretty grounded kid given the attention he receives.
January 14th, 2012 at 6:48 PM ^
I really like this kid...He will be great at the University of Michigan.
On a side note: Does anyone ever worry about burn-out with these young kids as they are getting more and more involved in recruiting and preparing for their eventual role

Jim Tressel was nicknamed "The Senator". Let's not shame Shane like that
January 14th, 2012 at 7:22 PM ^
Senator is no good. What about Ambassador Morris? Nice ring to it haha

AM(bassador) MO(rris) = AMMO!

i wonder which qb is going to have to sit in 2013. devin will be a senior. but russell bellomy will be a pretty good qb. and with morris coming in. i just hope no one transfers. all our qbs are studs.
January 14th, 2012 at 7:04 PM ^
I highly doubt any of them will transfer, nor should they. Many good teams have 3 capable QBs ready at any given time.
January 15th, 2012 at 1:27 PM ^
As much as I'd like Shane to come in and start from Day 1, I would like to see Devin have his year, especially after backing up Robinson for what will be 3 years. He'll know the offense very well, and will still have that dual threat ability. I think the QB battle between Morris and Gardner will be the biggest offseason story for us next year, but after Gardner graduates, I don't think there's any doubt Morris will be our guy.
Unfortunately for Bellomy, though, I think he will be a career backup, but I hope he gets some snaps here and there.

Tremendous interview, I really enjoy these. Keep up the good work.
Reading that interview put the biggest grin on my face. Shane is an outstanding kid and is exactly the type of player I want playing for Michigan. He's starving for success and has his head on straight it seems. He's going to be special.

...should be Fonzie.
January 14th, 2012 at 7:05 PM ^
If Shane can get LTT and TI aboard, I will be absolutely giddy. I'm partially giddy already because of Morris and Thomas. I really don't have a bad thing to say about any of the guys that Hoke has brought in thus far. They all seem like good kids.
January 14th, 2012 at 8:43 PM ^
What about the nickname "A-Maize-ing" Shane Morris? Anyone?
EDIT: Sorry... This really wasn't a well thought out effort.

Changed it. That's something I should have known anyways.

Already posted on the board several days ago
January 14th, 2012 at 7:20 PM ^
Only Tremendous could travel back in time and post something on the board several days ago. One more stupendous feat for MGoBlog.

Shane really does do his best to stay humble and focused despite all of the attention. He really deserves credit for that. At his age, I would have goofed that up horribly.
And how great is it that he appreciates the nickname "Overrated"? The guy has a sense of humor about himself and really seems to be putting things into perspective.

Do we even call Denard "shoelace" anymore? I'm not as excited about nicknames as the rest seem to be.
January 14th, 2012 at 7:58 PM ^
The only person that calls Denard shoelace is the guy from sports science.
January 14th, 2012 at 7:43 PM ^
Let's call him Honey Badger, that seems like a sure fire way to get to the MNC game.
January 14th, 2012 at 7:44 PM ^
Sometimes the best nickname is no nickname at all.
Why don't we just call him Shane Morris?
January 14th, 2012 at 7:57 PM ^
January 14th, 2012 at 7:59 PM ^
...how do you get these contacts and interviews? Do you work for a recruiting service?
January 14th, 2012 at 10:28 PM ^
January 14th, 2012 at 10:57 PM ^
Exactly. It's really easy and doesn't take any work at all.
January 14th, 2012 at 8:01 PM ^
He's going to be a Jim Harbuagh type QB at Michigan, where he's not scared to say things other players wouldn't. #Can'tWait

You can tell that Shane and Dymonte Thomas have spent a lot of time together. A lot of their answers sounded identical.
January 14th, 2012 at 11:15 PM ^
I'd like to see a video interview from Tremendous.
January 14th, 2012 at 11:27 PM ^
Personally I'm not a fan of all the intentional nicknaming we've been trying to do lately. A nickname should arise naturally, organically; it shouldn't be thought up and assigned prematurely. The right nickname will come to a guy at the right time.
January 15th, 2012 at 7:26 AM ^
Exactly. It's the Chris Berman-ization of society. Not everyone needs a nickname, guys.
January 15th, 2012 at 9:42 AM ^
Shane's was intentional, I agree. I disagree that it's bad, but yes it was our request. Amara, however, asked for one.

who cares if pat white or denard become nfl quarterbacks? a coach is supposed to find the best player for his system. Obviously RR has proven that he is very proficient in doing that.
January 15th, 2012 at 11:18 AM ^
Good times are ahead indeed

I really appreciate these interviews. Shane sounds like a solid kid who won't listen to all the hype, and will hopefully continue to work hard. As far as nicknames go- I'm not sure we should nickname any player until they've actually played a down of football for Michigan, but if I'm forced to come up with a nickname, how about Shane "Chuck Norris" Morris? (I swear I am only mildly obsessed with the amazing feats of Chuck Norris)
-When Alexander Bell invented the telephone, he had 3 missed calls from Chuck Norris.
