Seven Free Brendan Quinn Stories from Bball Season on The Athletic
The Athletic has opened up these seven stories from the year as a recap of sorts before the Final Four. Brendan Quinn has done a great job writing about this team all season. I highly recommend it.
Like many of us, I read stuff from all of the Michigan beat writers. Brendan is, in my opinion, the most talented of them all. These samplings are a good reflection of the in-depth work that he does. He works hard on the research, and he gets quotes and insights that no one else gets. He also writes it in a way that is very entertaining. He he has an excellent command of the English language which sets him apart from some as well. Thanks for sharing, I am glad that more people will get exposure to his work. His work alone seems to be worth the price of the Athletic subscription.

I was hesitant for awhile and recently signed up. It has been 100% worth it. There's not any crap on their site. It's almost all really, really good pieces.
that was my favorite by far. Quinn has always had a knack for writing, but he really gets inside the story, and hearing about Z's family has made me appreciate him all the more.
and I knew some people that knew him. When he left for Ann Arbor, they were depressed-- and mostly because he was the best basketball writer they had seen in that town for a long time.
I really enjoyed the Maui, MAAR, Poole, and Zavier write-ups. I didn't realize the Simpson family is full of great athletes, or that Poole's dad played football at Simeon. Interesting, cool stuff. Thanks for posting this, OP.
