Semi OT- Taylor Lewan Says Fighting Should Be Allowed in the NFL.
Saw it on RCMB and it's a slow day I thought I would share. Better than all the MSU news on the board.

Taylor said on twitter- "The @NFL should take a page out of the @NHL book and let us fight".

Well that would be a very dumb idea...
February 10th, 2017 at 3:50 PM ^
Why is this a dumb idea? I mean, what's dumb about allowing 320 lb. men jacked up on steroids and speed and horse tranquilizers pummel each other into submission during a game that has nothing to do with fighting???

am not seeing any potential problems with this. I think they should green light this idea ASAP.
February 10th, 2017 at 4:39 PM ^
Agreed. I think it falls into the same category as the "All Drug Olympics"...

Why Mabel, are you actively trying to get me "punished" for making two comments in a highly political post filled with far, far worse things than anything I said?
February 10th, 2017 at 5:12 PM ^
She's just salty.

It's no more ridiculous than it is in hockey, hockey has nothing to do with fighting either.
February 10th, 2017 at 10:18 PM ^
...to my face, mon tabernak.

February 10th, 2017 at 4:46 PM ^
I agree with you but I have a hard time telling football players not to do it when it's encouraged in hockey.

Maybe one day they'll be able to match it's popularity.
They shoud go one better and make fights the halftime show.

sort of?!
February 10th, 2017 at 4:39 PM ^
He's definitely the player in the NFL that I most wish didn't go to Michigan. Not a good representative of our university in any way.
February 10th, 2017 at 5:02 PM ^
Considering the comment, I wonder if he really went here, I mean actually get an education here?
February 10th, 2017 at 3:47 PM ^
"The NFL should totally let us do cocaine too, I'm just thinking about their ratings, it would be fine."

i saw the MSU coach arrested in front of football team thread and went to confirm it. Didn't see anything.
February 10th, 2017 at 7:13 PM ^
It is my guilty pleasure. Their meltdowns and delusions are hysterical to me.
February 10th, 2017 at 3:48 PM ^
I'm so glad Lewan is no longer at UM. What an asshole.
February 10th, 2017 at 3:50 PM ^
Shit...if anyone on the OL this year had Lewans intensity this team rolls to at least the Title game. Give me five guys with Lewans nastiness on the OL and I'll shove the ball down your throat every damn play.
February 10th, 2017 at 3:52 PM ^
Just hope their nastiness stays on the field unlike Lewan's.
February 10th, 2017 at 5:03 PM ^
I don't remember him having a lot of that nastiness whenever he played against staee.
February 10th, 2017 at 3:52 PM ^
Yeah, and how many rape victims will this line attempt to intimidate into staying quiet?
Not to mention, they'd collect so many personal fouls, your offense would never actually move forward.
February 10th, 2017 at 4:10 PM ^
It's a never-ending optimization problem. Larry Foote has alluded to it. Football is a nasty game and guys like Richie Incognito (a cretin by any measure) excel at it. Years ago Drew Lane of Detroit's WRIF hypothesized that his alma mater's football wins were positively correlated with the offseason arrest tally.
February 10th, 2017 at 4:13 PM ^
MSU's offseason arrest tally to on field Ws ratio is off then.

February 10th, 2017 at 4:20 PM ^
You won't find many (if any) Michigan fans who would criticize Lewan's ability on the field. Off the field, he's been less than a standup guy.
February 10th, 2017 at 4:24 PM ^
February 10th, 2017 at 6:52 PM ^
Nastiness? Check. (See Kyle Kalis)
Talent? Nope, with the possible exception of Bredeson.
February 10th, 2017 at 10:20 PM ^
...on the OL is worth like 225 yards a game in penalties.
February 10th, 2017 at 3:49 PM ^
he means the two biggest boys square off in a sumo circle at the 50 yard line then hell yeah I'm all for it!
Get the energy going just like after winning a hockey fight.
