Pisses me off. As of Sunday the forecast was saying high of 79, now it's saying close to 90. Blah...

Those CSU guys can play in a little heat, but are they ready for the humidity? Or the 75 points we will score before pulling back in the 3rd quarter and just running Orji up the middle for the last 20 minutes?
August 30th, 2022 at 7:43 AM ^
If we can run an Orji for 20 minutes that’s a good day
August 30th, 2022 at 10:33 AM ^
Can't sing, can't dance, too hot to Orji.
August 30th, 2022 at 6:18 AM ^
that's great if you're on the beach, but it ain't no good if you're footballing...
were you born on the sun?
August 30th, 2022 at 10:52 AM ^
Sure, except on the beach it'll only be 76* (the projected high for St. Joe). Love me some lake effect.
August 30th, 2022 at 11:30 AM ^
I miss Warren Dunes, Silver Beach, and Tiscornia. Lots of good childhood memories.
August 30th, 2022 at 12:56 PM ^
I worked at Warren Dunes for one very fun summer. I try to stop there or Grande Mere when back in town.

Thoughts and prayers to those seated in the N, NE, and E sections of the stadium. Actually, to everyone who, like me, wilts when either temperature / humidity exceeds 75.
August 30th, 2022 at 9:57 AM ^
What would be the best sections to avoid this?
August 30th, 2022 at 12:24 PM ^
Here's my opinion: I don't go to many games, but look for the opposing sections of those listed above. The S end of the stadium will generally have the sun behind you, although it's a noon game so the sun will still be high which limits the shade somewhat. Maybe the SW corner and/or the W side (shaded by the tall press box structure) would work best, especially later. Avoid the N, NE, E, and probably SE.
August 30th, 2022 at 6:50 AM ^
For those of us coming from the South, that sounds downright refreshing! In all seriousness, that'll make for a steamy Big House. The important thing is that rain/storms stay away.
August 30th, 2022 at 9:49 AM ^
was coming to comment that in Athens, the first four games are like "broil yourself to death on sizzling hot tin bleachers" temps GUARANTEED. I'm pretty stoked about 87.
August 30th, 2022 at 1:09 PM ^
Nah, can't do it. I appreciate all of you that fill the stadium on days like this, but I wait until October before my first game. There's just nowhere to hide in that place when it's that hot.
August 30th, 2022 at 7:21 AM ^
87 is hot?
August 30th, 2022 at 7:33 AM ^
For Michigan in September, yes. Not record setting but it is hot.
August 30th, 2022 at 9:38 AM ^
The record for 9/3 in Detroit was 100 degrees F back in 1953. I heard that was a hot summer across MI. earlier that year on June 8, Beecher, MI had a mile wide F5 tornado.
August 30th, 2022 at 11:16 AM ^
Wow! Global warming in 1953???
August 30th, 2022 at 11:45 AM ^
it's climate change bruh ... get up to date with the terminology

August 30th, 2022 at 8:02 AM ^
EDIT: they don’t call it hotlanta for nothing.
Yes, it’s really hot especially when you’re running the steps of the big house. Trust me on that one.
That said, you southerners probably have your down jackets on when it’s 85 or below. Below 70 the National Guard gets called out?
August 30th, 2022 at 8:16 AM ^
What's a down jacket?
August 30th, 2022 at 8:55 AM ^
you southerners probably have your down jackets on when it’s 85
I was in Phoenix once in October when they were talking on TV about the cold spell they were having and how to keep warm and showing pictures of fireplaces and hot chocolate . . .
It was 85 degrees.
August 30th, 2022 at 9:02 AM ^
And when I just had gotten to LA years ago I remember people walking around during hot sunny days wearing down jackets, thus my comment
August 30th, 2022 at 9:20 AM ^
late january/february in cali ... everyone was wearing parkas and winter hats. i was wearing jeans and a t-shirt. it was 58 degrees out.
August 30th, 2022 at 12:26 PM ^
That's how the locals can spot the tourists.
Seriously - after decades in CA and AZ anything below 70 and you have to at least consider a quarter-zip or sweatshirt when wearing shorts.... -- I still vaguely remember having to golf when it was below 70...or worse...raining.
August 30th, 2022 at 5:01 PM ^
I was in LA for work several years ago and was staying at The Standard. It was August and hot af. The band The Strokes were drinking at the rooftop bar. The singer had a fur coat on and look like he was sweating his skinny ass off. Anything for fashion...
August 30th, 2022 at 2:44 PM ^
Yes, it’s really hot especially when you’re running the steps of the big house. Trust me on that one.
One of my favorite summer workouts was running the steps in the south end zone when the stadium was still open to the public. Bottom to the very top five times in a row without stopping got the blood moving for an old guy.
August 30th, 2022 at 7:11 PM ^
try doing it with the U of M coaches yelling at you, blowing whistles, etc. and that was just the start of hours of exercise in any given day. lost its luster very quickly.
August 30th, 2022 at 9:39 PM ^
Sounds like boot camp
August 31st, 2022 at 10:31 AM ^
Fortunately, I was 5'-7" and 125 lbs soaking wet when I was at U-M so there was no chance I'd ever be in a situation where there would be coaches yelling at me, and I wasn't interested in volunteering to be water boy or clipboard gofer.
August 31st, 2022 at 10:52 AM ^
tough to keep weight on that frame....
August 30th, 2022 at 2:43 PM ^
87 is gorgeous. Can't wait to be in the Big House!
August 30th, 2022 at 8:16 AM ^
As long as we don't get anything like what moved through around 6 PM last night....
That was....an angry storm.
August 30th, 2022 at 8:26 AM ^
Yeah, I couldn't go see a friend of mine due to a power outage at her place.
August 30th, 2022 at 8:54 AM ^
Just glad we didn’t lose power and have a DTE debacle like we did last year
August 30th, 2022 at 8:21 AM ^
Fond memories of sitting in the stands above the north endzone as a freshman on a sunny September Saturday and then seeing all the sunburned faces on the right side the following day.
August 30th, 2022 at 8:57 AM ^
I got sunburned in October in the north endzone my first year at Michigan. Didn't think that would be possible.
August 30th, 2022 at 8:35 AM ^
We've had 51 days over 100 here in Dallas this summer. An afternoon in the low to mid 80s sounds spectacular. Looking forward to it!
August 30th, 2022 at 8:40 AM ^
The game is at noon, at right now the hourly forecast is 80 at noon, with a heat index of 82, rising to 85 at 3PM, with a heat index of maybe 86 - hard to tell, the lines are so close. And it's only Tuesday.
August 31st, 2022 at 5:37 AM ^
When it's a whole 82 heat index, this is the way to cool off!!
Ah there, that's better.
August 30th, 2022 at 8:47 AM ^
Even though it’s forecast to be warm. It’s not as hot as it was moving my kids into their respective dorms last year - and carrying loads of stuff up and down four to seven flights of stairs.
Yes, we did use elevators for bigger things, but the wait times made it faster to just deal with the stairs instead.
And, bring sunscreen for the September games..

Temperature the last few weeks in this part of Michigan has been alright but the humidity has been awful.
