Heard some Colorado guys say that former Michigan DT target Victory Vaka was actually processed out of Colorado’s class for Iwunnah.  This shows that Iwunnah is more than likely being disrespected by the recruiting ranking websites.

Those in the know, I’ve always felt as though it’s a disadvantage to be 6’ 4”+ as a DT/NT. Is there truth to this or is it totally a technique thing of getting low? I just always felt if you were 6’ 4” + you get moved to OT because of the leverage problem.

Edited bc I put 6’ 2”. I meant 6’ 4” but it seems as though a lot of those guys (Will Campbell is the stereotype I go to mentally) have trouble getting push because they stand up and can’t get a good pad level. I’m no expert so I’m just curious what our resident experts think.

IGBO KWENU!!!  Name pronounciation for you guys: EE-KAY-CHU-KOO EE-WU-NNAH.  Basically the W in first name is silent but otherwise surprisingly easy.  MORE NIGERIANS, YES!!!

So, for those with more football knowledge than I.... it seems we've been getting lighter and faster (perforce) guys in the middle.

After the Minnesota game during the Podcast Brian and Seth both said that Minnie got away with a good enough O line buy recruitng like 400lbs guys. THey couldn't move but they could push forward enough to get a running game; and it let Minnesota not have to recruit against the bigger schools as hard.

Couldn't we do something like that for DT? Particularly if we are going to go to a 3-4? Yes, I'd love to have Mo Hurst but wouldn't a 400lbs guy who can just move forward and push the pocket and take space count too? There have to be more of them than Mo Hursts.
