I thought Xitter said that Will Johnson was back?
September 23rd, 2023 at 9:58 AM ^
Might play, but officially listed as questionable.
September 23rd, 2023 at 11:22 AM ^
In my head I pronounced that as "shitter".
September 23rd, 2023 at 11:23 AM ^
Does anyone not?
September 23rd, 2023 at 11:35 AM ^
Username fits...given the tanking price of that stock.
September 23rd, 2023 at 11:47 AM ^
He will play some
September 23rd, 2023 at 9:58 AM ^
Really starting to get concerned about secondary health.
The top guys don't just need to get back. They need a few games of full speed game reps by PSU
September 23rd, 2023 at 10:04 AM ^
They are questionable, not out.
September 23rd, 2023 at 10:12 AM ^
Some have been questionable for weeks
September 23rd, 2023 at 10:21 AM ^
Moore was listed as "out" last week, so that's at least nominally improved. Johnson has played a few snaps.
September 23rd, 2023 at 11:27 AM ^
And if you're questionable...why would you play against MAC level teams when you can get another week of rest?
You don't even know what these injuries are. Have you ever sprained your ankle?
If so, I assume you know that it takes time to heal and the more rest you give it, the closer you are to 100%...but if you rush back, you know that you risk reinjuring yourself.
So do you think these guys are going to take that risk versus BGSU or Rutgers?
What about a concussion? Same thing. Another week can be huge.
The point? We don't know what these injuries are...so being chicken little about how they're being managed is ridiculous.
Some injuries get better with more rest. Other injuries might not improve the same way...but risking it against BGSU vs. risking it against Rutgers is a no Brainerd.
Also, wasn't Makari Paige listed as questionable last week?
September 23rd, 2023 at 10:21 AM ^
I had this same feeling for a minute, but especially after last week I watched how the coaches have futzed around with everyone’s PT and realized that the most likely explanation for all of these head-scratching decisions is that they genuinely have viewed the beginning of this season as a preseason. It feels like they’ve been stress-testing depth more than doing things out of necessity.
September 23rd, 2023 at 10:43 AM ^
This is the stupidest fckin narrative that we fans need to get out of our heads. I keep seeing this and let me tell you the coaches did not treat those 3 games as “preseason”. Such a lazy take. We’re going for a national fcking championship this year and if you think the coaches are just fuckin around bc they can then we have bigger issues. There’s obviously roster and schematic concern, and they’re trying to figure it all out. We’re not Georgia where we can afford to do that shit
September 23rd, 2023 at 10:47 AM ^
Counterpoint: the last two Rutgers games. There are Big Ten games the staff obviously doesn't take seriously. Also very in character for the school's general ethos of superiority.
September 23rd, 2023 at 10:50 AM ^
No one said they're doing it "because they can." They're doing it to give their depth players meaningful reps, and keep mileage off the starters, which makes sense if you think they're going to play a 15 game season.
And I'd further argue that being "not Georgia" is exactly a reason to treat the first 3 games as a preseason. You don't have draft picks on your 3rd string at most positions, so getting to November and December and January healthy is absolutely critical.
September 23rd, 2023 at 10:53 AM ^
If that’s the case then I disagree with that. This is still a new season which means a new team. I understand keeping your players healthy but at some point chemistry and cohesiveness has to be just as important. And that hasn’t been the case these past 3 games. We’ve played sloppy and I know we have a soft schedule but these games are to work out the kinks and we haven’t really done that
September 23rd, 2023 at 9:58 AM ^
I’m not buying the Stokes injury. #PortalBound
September 23rd, 2023 at 10:17 AM ^
I hate to agree with this, but it's getting pretty late for the guy so early in his career. Seems he's already been passed by Hall and didn't Cabana get more snaps last week? He had a lot of promise last year, but one missed cut against OSU looks like it put him back at the end of the line to start over. What a dog house to get out of with this backfield...
September 23rd, 2023 at 11:11 AM ^
So is Orgi. No real position for him at this point. Donegal will probably head there soon too.
September 23rd, 2023 at 11:48 AM ^
Hmmmm.. probably correct
September 23rd, 2023 at 10:01 AM ^
Any detail anywhere on the Orji injury? Didn't seem likely that he got hurt on the two snaps he played against BGSU.
September 23rd, 2023 at 10:02 AM ^
Most injuries happen at practice.
September 23rd, 2023 at 10:10 AM ^
I know where you can get details about an orgi injury, but you’ll want to clear your browsing history after.
September 23rd, 2023 at 10:06 AM ^
Orji injuries are a common problem.
September 23rd, 2023 at 10:09 AM ^
No kidding. Fortunately, family reunions are just once a year.
September 23rd, 2023 at 10:24 AM ^
Signing off for the day, nobody's topping that one.
September 23rd, 2023 at 11:43 AM ^
User name checks out.
September 23rd, 2023 at 11:54 AM ^
That's a winner. We might as well turn out the lights and go home.
September 23rd, 2023 at 11:55 AM ^
Roll Tide!
September 23rd, 2023 at 10:50 AM ^
"Busting a nut" is not really considered an injury.
September 23rd, 2023 at 11:08 AM ^
"Blue balls" is a legit injury though.
September 23rd, 2023 at 10:19 AM ^
Just have to be patient on the Orji.
September 23rd, 2023 at 10:19 AM ^
It's none of our business, but these mystery injuries are frustrating. Will Clemons, Walker, McBurrows and Moore even play this year at all? Their injuries somewhat remind me of Greene's from last year.
September 23rd, 2023 at 10:24 AM ^
Multiple coaches have said Moore is very close (and those comments were last week and earlier). I don't recall them ever saying NHG was close. I don't think it's the same at all.
September 23rd, 2023 at 10:35 AM ^
Please tell me this is not a collective NHG situation for the entire secondary.
Preseason is over. These guys need to start getting out there.
September 23rd, 2023 at 10:43 AM ^
So is Paige the only safety on the 2-deep not on the list? Who’s left?
September 23rd, 2023 at 10:46 AM ^
Q-JO?
September 23rd, 2023 at 11:45 AM ^
Der Kolesar is in town.
September 23rd, 2023 at 11:49 AM ^
He played decently
September 23rd, 2023 at 2:01 PM ^
Uh-oh!
September 23rd, 2023 at 10:43 AM ^
FFS the secondary?
September 23rd, 2023 at 10:50 AM ^
Fortunately, Wimsatt isn't the guy to worry about throwing it all over the yard, especially with the DL we'll rush at him.
September 23rd, 2023 at 10:53 AM ^
What's up with the deluge of non-game injuries to quick twitch athletes? If it was a systemic issue, I'd expect more WRs to be out too, but this is strange seeing such a high concentration with a specific type of athlete on our team.
September 23rd, 2023 at 10:58 AM ^
Largely coincidence, I imagine, with possibly the effect of some injuries meaning everyone left is getting a few extra reps, which increases the chance for those players to get injured themselves.
September 23rd, 2023 at 10:56 AM ^
That is an absurd injury report for September. These guys need to start playing together.
September 23rd, 2023 at 11:09 AM ^
Will Johnson and Rod Moore are playing today per the interweb. Trustworthy source.
September 23rd, 2023 at 11:19 AM ^
Geez. Kind of a lengthy sick bay list for this early in the year. Let's hope for the healing power of the world to descend on the Big House today.
September 23rd, 2023 at 11:52 AM ^
God bless!!
September 23rd, 2023 at 11:34 AM ^
Graham's wrap seems a little high up the arm for hand surgery, no?
September 23rd, 2023 at 11:46 AM ^
When I broke my hand playing college football (intramural at a DIII but still technically a football injury in college), my first cast was halfway up my arm. My second cast, put on about a week later, just covered went down to my wrist.
