Risk Day 17 - This Is What Good RNG Looks Like. Ohio State Is OUT Of The West (for now)

Submitted by Michigan CFB R… on April 8th, 2020 at 11:12 AM

It's always a bit nerve-wracking when the clock hits 0 on a given turn. There's no way to know how the (virtual) dice will roll and whether your team's strategy will pay off, or if a bad roll of the dice will set you back several days. You guys saw what could happen with a bad roll of the dice just a couple days ago. Last night, though, RNG decided to bless us in a big way.

Not only did we secure all of California and Nevada, but OSU lost ALL of their western territories (not counting Alaska). I cannot overstate how huge that is. We no longer have two of the biggest powers in the game bracketing us. Instead, we have Stanford (the weakest team) at our northern border, an embattled Nebraska to the east, and TAM only touches one of our territories (ASU).

That said, you all have seen how quickly fortunes can turn on a given night. We're in good position heading into the next turn, but it won't mean much if we don't take advantage of it NOW. OSU continues to recruit exceptionally well, and actually has a 52 player advantage on us (TAM also has more players). They WILL be back, so we need you guys to continue turning up the heat. Get your assignments from MichiganCFBRisk.com and keep playing EVERY DAY. Follow @CFB_Risk and tell your buddies to follow it, too. And if you want to get more involved, be sure to join the Discord server (https://discord.gg/JJJh3Gc) and get vetted for some insider talk.

All that being said, here's to a great night last night and GO BLUE!

So Alaska and the top of Maine are connected?

Is Alaska and Hawaii connected?  I assume no?

Which territories are Hawaii connected on the main land?

That said it'd be nice to get GT out of Hawaii and have even more protected territories and utilize our numbers on the frontlines rather than having to protect 1 (or more?) territories on the backside.  I like our positioning to have more and more protected territories and not out in the middle of no where like those Texas and Oklahoma freaks.

New to this (and risk as a whole) but I joined, got my assignment and executed the order. Thats it right?  Just was somewhat surprised as to who my order was for based on the map above.

Maize - us

Grey - bad guys

Maroon - Texas AM

Burnt Orange - Texas

Orange - Clemson

Black - Chaos

Beige - Georgia Tech

The reds get a bit tricky:

Alabama is down in Mississippi/Alabama,

Oklahoma is in Oklahoma/Colorado,

Stanford is up in the Northwest,

Nebraska is the lighter red in the NW, Minnesota, Utah, Colorado and Kansas

Wisconsin is the red in Michigan, Wyoming, etc.

After watching this since last seaso I finally signed up. Hadn't before because I figured I might forget to submit turns consistently. Plenty of time now since I am off like many. Did first assignment!
