The back story is that he hasn't heard from his golf buddy Keith Jackson for weeks and then the Doris Day news just hit him hard......

Sad. He was my late mother's favorite comedian and she'd watch the Carol Burnett show on Saturday nights without fail just for his skits. I remember watching her laugh so hard she could barely breath whenever he did something.
RIP Tim. Say hi to Caroline and tell her Donald misses her if you see her.
If you have MeTV in your area, usually a subchannel... like 20.2 in Denver where I'm at, the Carol Burnett show plays daily. Love it. Funny stuff.
My late mom loved Carol Burnett as well. She was a Harvey Korman fan and thought the Korman/Conway skits we the funniest thing ever.
He was funny. Not sure if Dorf holds up these days. Back in the day though.

You know you are a legendary talent when you can make another well accomplished comedian piss his pants on live TV any number of times.

For those of you that are a little older, you remember he was hilarious on The Carol Burnett Show, as Dorf, or in various movies (see The Longshot if you haven't- it's incredibly funny).
For the younger crowd, you'll know him as the voice of Barnacle Boy in Spongebob Squarepants.

My dad always loved him, so we'd watch the highlight/ reunion shows when I was a kid. He was so funny. R.i.p.
First time I recall seeing him on TV was in McHale's Navy. Have loved him ever since. One of the truly funny guys ever.
Edit: His skit as a dentist with Harvey Korman is the funniest thing I've ever seen.
Same here in regards to McHale's Navy. His routines with Capt. Binghamton on the show were side-splitting.

I grew up with Tim Conway.
He probably made me laugh more than anyone that I've ever seen.
This is a huge shock as he was very young when I remember him.

Loved his humility and family-friendly humor. If you've never seen it, Don Knotts and Conway in 1980's The Private Eyes is a fun watch with the family. He'll be missed.

I know...I can barely look Avatar Me in the mirror...I feel dirty. I'm pretty sure it's the Dan Gilbert part. We all know that Dan is that guy that doesn't wash his damn hands.
Had the opportunity to sit down and talk to him at the Del Mar race track. Very nice and classy guy.
Tim Conway was one of the all time greats.
Bob Newhart seems to have been forgotten but he had some of the funniest skits (audio) ever. Also, Bill Cosby had truly hilarious bits. (I know he's apparently turned out to be a scum bag but he was still a comic genius.)
Interesting that all of them were all able to be hilarious and still be completely clean. They were simply fundamentally funny people.

I think it was Conway who played Dorf, and did the video Dorf on Golf... hilarious when he had his lower legs buried in ground and would hit ball, then fall back... made me laugh out loud when I was a teenager..... RIP
