RIP Terry Jones

Gott Damn, I hate to see Pythons checking out. Micheal Palin was his primary writing partner during the TV series, and he became a pretty good director, with Life of Brian being my favorite MP movie.

I was an MP too. Oh. Wait. You mean Monty Python. I miss Jones more than I miss the Army.

RIP, you — to borrow another "mp" moniker — merry prankster.

I thought this had to do something with Michigan athletics. Then I realized this site is just a place where people (mostly Michigan fans) gather to talk about random stuff that sometimes includes Michigan sports. But hell, whatever creates traffic to increase revenue.

Perhaps this should have been signaled OT to alert those unfamiliar with the name, but in the catalog of annoyances one encounters in the comments on MGoBlog, this barely ranks for me.

My personal favorite is Monty Python and the Holy Grail, which, my avatar insists, is the best Arthurian movie (in English).

And of course one way of coping with BPONE is to cultivate a sense of humor.

Sad day but seemed inevitable once the dementia set in a couple years back. I'm binge watching the old TV episodes now that they are on Netflix. Python never gets old for me

I'm doing my best to give my kids my warped sense of humor so I had them watch the Black Knight scene in Holy Grail. British humor is quite subtle so may take some time but I'm willing to put in the effort. Got my 10 year old daughter asking to watch MST3K episodes with me so I'm hopeful. For sure Monty Python will be in that mix. One of the greatest TV shows of all time for me.

I know no one cares and this is just one of dozens of posts that this applies to and I’m about to rant on an RIP post but does no one use the “OT” heading anymore? I thought this was Terry Mills for two seconds. Again probably no one cares but There is literally no moderation on this board. Is this because HUEL sucks or just no one cares?

Man,this sucks. He had had some major health issues over the past few years, but he was maybe my favorite Python (split between him and Eric Idle). His comedy chops are obvious, but he was a very good and very entertaining historian as well. He will really be missed.

"I think he said 'Blessed are the cheese makers.' "

The Pythons were a unique crew; never to be replicated. And to this day, we still don't know the flight speed of a swallow, African or European.

RIP. In addition to his brilliant work with MP, he also wrote the screenplay for Jim Henson’s 1986 classic “Labyrinth” starring David Bowie. A true genius.

Three cheers for his history stuff. His Crusades doco was one of the best things we got to see in school growing up, and his book Who Murdered Chaucer? is a classic.

RIP Terry Jones. So many great characters, but Arthur 'Two Sheds' Jackson will always be a favorite.
