Nice - cool for him as a Mississisauga kid to join the team that probably got him into basketball in the first place (IIRC the Raptors led to a big increase in prospects coming out of Canada since they were founded)

yeah, very cool for Nik to suit up for the Raptors.
I am hoping that he finds a way to stick around with the team after players start coming back from covid...

That guy helped me believe in the power of Michigan basketball again - so many fun memories!

I'm with you ... Nik draining six shots from beyond the arc against Florida in the victory that sent the Wolverines to the Final Four! Good times.
December 20th, 2021 at 5:29 PM ^
I'll see your shots against Florida and raise you Nik blowing kisses to the breslin fans after cutting out their hearts. Hope he makes the best of the opportunity and catches on with them.

Good on him. It is incredibly difficult to make the NBA. It is also extremely rare to be out of the League for three years and crack a roster again. Stauskas has the skill set to be successful in today's game, however. He was .429 3fg his last stint with Cleveland and if he can clear .4 there will be a roster spot for him.

Not to take away from him, but these players in covid protocols are causing teams to sign g league players more than ever right now
December 20th, 2021 at 5:55 PM ^
Yep, have to add Toronto to my growing list. Miami, Orlando, Dallas, Indianapolis, Golden State...

Have thought about doing a weekly NBA check-in focusing on Michigan alum.... Alas, fatherhood doesn't leave me the time or energy

Drain'm Nik! Make it rain....

Just watched a G League game for the first time in my life. GR Gold vs. Ignite or whatever they are called. The only reason I tuned in was that Nik was playing.
December 20th, 2021 at 5:44 PM ^
One of the funnest Michigan players in the past 20 years. In any sport
December 20th, 2021 at 5:48 PM ^
That boy was magic

I miss those absolutely hideous yellow highlighter uniforms.
December 20th, 2021 at 6:00 PM ^
The 3-pointer to end the half at Illinois after their student section chanted "U-S-A!" Then Sauce staring them down.
December 20th, 2021 at 6:14 PM ^
I would've thought Illinois fans were capable of spelling C A N A D A!

Tirico and Dakich were on the call. Dakich just chuckled and Tirico busted out
"O Canada!"

Good luck to Nik.

1 of my 3 favorite Michigan basketball players of all time.
Glen Rice, Jalen Rose, Nik Stauskas in no compelling order.
December 20th, 2021 at 6:20 PM ^
Hat tip for unorthodox usage of compelling
December 20th, 2021 at 6:47 PM ^
I might imply the inclusion of Ricky Greene and Antoine Joubert.
December 21st, 2021 at 11:20 AM ^
Include Antoine Joubert? The most overrated Wolverine of all time? Ummm, ok.
December 20th, 2021 at 6:16 PM ^
Sauce!
December 20th, 2021 at 6:20 PM ^
Ha I will always remember him out jumping dudes at the combine and they not believing it.
December 20th, 2021 at 6:27 PM ^
I really hope he makes it this time. I’d love to see him carve out a role like Duncan has.
Mitch McGary was about 20-25 years too late. He would have been excellent In the late 90’s early 200’s NBA
December 21st, 2021 at 11:56 AM ^
actually Mitch fits today's NBA--slightly undersized center, who can run the court and the PnR. But Mitch had other plans for his life.
December 20th, 2021 at 6:58 PM ^
Congrats, Nik. Good luck.

Blouses Stauskas.
