Hi MGoBoard,

I'm working with my team on a researching Nike for MBA paper - any employees willing to be interviewed?  Given the close ties (remade) between the University and Nike, I'm suspecting that a few Nike connections (either direct with the company, within the University, or perhaps even suppliers or competitors) may exist on the board.  I'm looking for a few contacts to speak on any of the following (whatever you're connected with, would be great.

but you could always look on LinkedIn? I'm pretty sure you can look specifically at Nike employees, filter them out by if they went to UofM, and contact them from there. From personal experience, that can be a great way to find Michigan connections in various companies.

If you're looking for a thesis, how about the boom/bust and revival of the brand ...the impact of Under Armour and reemergence of Nike after the scandals around production and manufacturing

"Mikee"  from Nike?

He's usually found on MGoBoard posting under one of several usernames and avatars, but the one he most frequently uses

is:   Wolverine Devotee's picture

But I am busy researching how many other colors and textures are out there that the University of Oregon football team can incoporate into their uniforms. I simply do not have the time for anything else right now.

Waiting for WD to chime in......

He's probably got a Nike Super Guide he's currently working on.

I know one of Nike's top former shoe designers and can put you in touch. He moved to Adidias last year and may be able to provide insight. Let me know.

As far as the paper not being published, that's most likely correct, but even if you have no intention of publishing the paper, that's no guarantee that one of your team members or, more likely, professor won't take the information that is gathered and use it as part of a published paper or book chapter at some point.

Entire books have been written about some of those topics.

There are entire HBR articles about different aspects of Nike as well.

Lastly, I don't know what MBA class this assignment is from but I'd be very hesitant to use a source that didn't first get cleared through Nike's public relations team.

Truly appreciated.

And yes, we have the 10-k, 10-q, analyst reports, case studies, HBR articles, GSB articles, several academic papers, and other published sources.  The goal was to combine those sources with orignial research from a vareity of individuals to fill in gaps, validate information, and understand how directions may have changed in the past years or even months.

Thank you again.
