Report: Maryland tells B1G that Howard said "I'll f*****g kill you" to Turgeon

No idea how credible the source is.

Their story sounds eerily similar to the infamous confrontation between John Chaney and John Calipari way back in 1994. Mark Turgeon is 56 and has been around the block in the coaching world. If it's true that Turgeon is claiming this, could it be that he's drawing some inspiration from real life in crafting his story? Hmm...

Well, if true, it's time for us Michigan fans to spend the weekend doing pushups and squats and prepare ourselves for the long sacrifice of war. Looks like we'll be called into battle soon to defend our coach. We must all answer the call. I hope to see my wife and sons again. I will write them daily.

Yeah, I'm going to be surprised all that happened and yet the only four words Turgeon said were the ones he claimed.

Why Maryland wants to make this such a multi-day story is beyond me.  They have been blown out three times and each of them they wind up whining about something.  At some point it's pretty obvious you're just complaining about losing and can't handle it.

In the middle of a heated argument, when someone is rushing at you like Turdgeon was, yelling 'man, I'll fucking kill you' is a pretty common thing and cannot - CANNOT - be considered an actual death threat.  I mean, say he did say it, does anyone really think that Howard will now plot to actually murder him?

Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if he did say it when Turdgeon was rushing at him screaming his face off.  And I don't care one bit, either.  This is fucking stupid, and all the whining is coming from Maryland.  Kinda tells you the type of program Turdgeon is running...

And, to be even more honest, something more than 'don't talk to me' was said to get that response from Juwan fucking Howard.

I know I'm biased, but this all seems like extremely sour grapes from Turgeon

Probably true. Also Turg might be underplaying it a bit pic.twitter.com/zqFH4AGqxC

Juwan is at mid-court and looks fairly calm and then Turgeon absolutely loses his sh*t and comes over screaming at Howard. Only then did Howard start yelling back and having to be held back.

So I'm supposed to believe the guy who already told on Howard twice to the league office and seems like the clear instigator for the 3rd time is some more innocent victim of tyrant Juwan? Come on. Go cry to the Big Ten offices again Mork

So Maryland’s Coach, cried to the principal because he didn’t like how kickball was going at recess.  Rushes another kid during the next kickball game and stops when he realizes the other kid is twice his size.   Then runs back to the principal because his feelings got hurt again.

So sorry Mark, you might want to stay in during recesses or play hopscotch.

Mark, take your bankrupt athletic department and join the American conference.  You and the rest of the turtles are lucky to be here.

Who else knew a Turgeon in high school? Talk shit all the time and then cry foul the second anyone retaliates in any way and claim the victim. Of course then Ian set a tree on fire and got expelled.. lets hope Turgeon has a bit more self control.

I said those exact words in that shtty grey stadium in Columbus in 2016 and I absolutely meant them. For about 5 seconds.  I haven't had a fight since 3rd grade and would no doubt have been stomped.

"Altercation mode" makes men say stupid things.  I was embarrassed at my behavior. I'm sure Juwan was too.

But somewhere in my deep dino Michigan Man brain, I'm so happy we have a coach who stands up and fights for his players. I'd love it if Harbaugh would yell that publicly to Ryan Day in a skirmish.  I just wish Turgeon was bigger or more threatening, so the optics would be better.

I hope this isn't true because if it came to pass and Howard actually killed Turgeon, it would be bad for two reasons.

1.  There could be legal ramifications, which would at the very least leave a multi-game conference suspension.

2.  Getting rid of Turgeon would give Maryland an opportunity to hire a better coach, and the B1G is tough enough as it is.
