Reminder: Devin Gardner UFR 6:30pm Royal Oak
Reminder: 6:30pm tonight at Taphouse in Royal Oak MI (the old Jimi’s) Devin Gardner will use the TVs and break down and review about 15 plays from last Saturday’s game.
The event is put on by Michael Spath and typically has been a smaller crowd leading to higher interaction with the audience.
My group and I will not be able to attend tonight so it could be an even smaller group. I hope some of you will attend and take advantage of the opportunity to pick Devin’s brain about college football plays and what’s it like to suit up for the Wolverines. I plan to attend the remaining reviews but have a family event tonight.

Thanks for the reminder. Maybe I'll skip karate and go tonight.

Are you one of those people I see practicing in formation on Woodward?

Ha, no. I see those guys too when I'm getting pizza from Andy's. I think that place teaches Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I just started doing Korean karate. There's a guy in my son's class about 15+ years older than me who inspired me to join.
My life is constant agony now.

If you don't mind my asking, what is Korean Karate? Karate is Okinawan and Japanese, isn't it?
September 27th, 2018 at 3:20 PM ^
Technically correct, which is the best kind of correct.
The two best known Koran martial arts are Taekwondo, which involves a lot of kicking and is based mostly off of traditional Korean and Chinese martial arts.
The other is Tang Soo Do, which also incorporates shotokan karate, kung fu, and other martial arts. The most famous Tang Soo Do practitioner in the US is Chuck Norris.
Both were forms were developed after WW2, since all the old schools were closed and many of their teachers were killed / imprisoned during the Japanese occupation.

Skip karate...and slap on some Hai Karate instead.

I attended the Tuesday night film study at The Beer Grotto with Devin and Spath and will continue to do so. Excellent and informative presentation.

If he talks about "excellent protection", and there's a note of bitterness in his voice...just let it go. He's earned it.
For what he went through for us, he deserves our everlasting love. And a few beers.

Legit LOL at work.
Thanks, I needed that today.

Agreed. After that OSU game, he is my favorite Wolverine of all time. The character it took to play the second half with a broken foot is awe-inspiring.

Whats Devin up to these days besides doing these breakdowns? Is he not going to be playing in Japan this year?
September 27th, 2018 at 6:01 PM ^
He’s engaged to be married. Other than that I’m not sure.

Isn't he on a CFL team?
September 27th, 2018 at 8:08 PM ^
Will this event be repeated on future thursdays?
September 27th, 2018 at 8:53 PM ^
Yes every Thursday after a game

Shout out to whoever told Devin they read the UFR's on MGoblog, that might have been the highlight of the night for me.

Can anyone give the cliff notes what was discussed?
