Re: Reports Coach Hart had a seizure, reference

First off, I hope Coach is okay and stable.

I thought this reference might be helpful for people wondering what (assuming reports are accurate) it might mean that he experienced a seizure.

For those who haven’t been around someone having a seizure, it can be a very scary sight.

I’m carrying on like an asshole because a player and coach, I’ve followed, respect and admired had something crazy happen and we’re posting speculative sh**t off of hot takes. Did you by chance read the article? And the associated speculation? Do you know anything about censures? There are a myriad of reasons and causes, and this paints the gravest scenario. If it were my son, your son, anyone - I’d still find it the same way. A hot take linking to an article that suggest some grave things. And not very tasteful imo. $0.02

A few reporters at the game also reported that he appeared to have a seizure. As an emergency medical care professional that was my initial thoughts seeing it on TV as well. He seemed to display a good amount of confusion as he was being loaded and carted off the feild. Something common with the postictal state following a seizure.

It was right in front of us. We were 14 rows up on the 40 yard line. It was surreal. I saw him down and was wondering that nobody was reacting cuz it happened so fast. Literally one of the scariest sights to see him down like that. Corum was visibly shaken. Hope to hear he’s doing better. No dr but it looked like he was having a seizure as I’ve had family members suffer with them.

If he hasn't had a history of them then something else caused him to have it, means there are many things to rule out and find the cause.   I hope it is nothing serious.

Don’t know if he might be diabetic or pre but I know the only seizure I’ve seen in person looked similar and was my cousins discovery that he was diabetic. Real rare for something like epilepsy to not reveal until mid adulthood from what I read. Here’s hoping he was just dehydrated or something minor like that.

I’ve shared a bit before that I know Hart, from having worked at the athletic department when he came to IU. I’m currently out of town but headed back into town in about an hour.

As has been shared already, he’s staying in the hospital tonight and his wife is with him. He is doing good and hoping to make a trip back tomorrow. I texted him to let him know if he needs anything to reach out to me. I’m not the only one for sure, there are a ton of guys still in the athletic department or around Bloomington that have a lot of respect for Hart and who were checking on him as soon as he got to the hospital.

I know this isn’t any new info, but if he’s OK with me sharing once he’s back with the team, I will. Harbaugh doesn’t want him to rush back. Corum was very upset and wanted to stay with Hart. He was still very upset going into halftime.

I am someone who has had several seizures and have had many work ups by docs over the years. It has been scary to go thru but in the end they concluded that my condition is not serious, thankfully. Let’s hope this is also the case for coach, because they all look scary and serious.

I saw that he will stay in Bloomington tonight, which kinda says something. My wife who is from Asia and still is playing catch up on American football asked who he was, pretty simple answer from me, I’m 37 and as far as I have seen he is the best player from UM that I have seen. Denard was amazing and I watched an underutilized Brady at UM and Hart still was the best. He was all Hart (pun intended) and the definition of a Michigan Man, the player’s reactions showed that. Hope he gets healthy and is everlasting presence on UM sidelines until he retires. He belongs on the sidelines and in our Hart’s

Best wishes to Coach Hart.  Some folks have them, and nothing can be found as the cause.  I hope it is something like that for him -- a one-off mystery, and he is fine going forward.  I wish for the best.
