Will always remember him leveling Egbuka on that crucial drive right after Corum’s go ahead score. He was right where he needed to be, when he needed to be there, and stopped what would’ve been a massive 20-25 yard pickup / Michigan momentum killer from Egbuka. Was the 2023 version of Marcus Ray trucking David Boston.

Best of luck to him.

This is surprising. I feel like one more year would've really opened up his possibilities. Either way, best of luck to him. He has a chance to be an impact player in the NFL.

Johnson was a role player who thankfully got his 15 minutes of fame with the OSU hit and the Alabama forced fumble. Even as a 5th-year player he had lots of Mouton / Colson days in the UFRs. He'd also lost some physical ability after some injuries early in his career. (That means he doesn't resemble an older version of his impressive recruiting profile.) I'd expect that he's prepared to move on with life, football or not.

He wasn't a half starter, WTF are you talking about?

He was a clear #3 most of the year and Sabb was clearly closing by the end considering it was Sabb who started in the national championship game when Paige was hurt.

Michigan returns two multi-year starters + Sabb.

Zeke Berry can easily take these snaps.

Let's wish Q the best and root that he makes a team.

Class of 2019 and came on in some big games.  Given the timing, he probably put some thought into it and felt it was the right time after five years.  Wish him well.

He must have filed two weeks ago and just waited to announce his intentions. The deadline for draft declaration was 1/15.

Good luck Quinten. Thank you for all your contributions to the team and NC effort.

Good luck to Quinten!  But this is a WTF moment...  Dude really turned a corner this year and was primed to be a featured piece next year, even if was still going to be behind Moore and Paige.  But, uhh, if he's behind two college players* how high does he get drafted?  Or are we looking at a UDFA deal?

* - Even if those two college players will be good value draft picks next year

Because he wants to play pro and Michigan returns two starters and he has spent 5 years in college and he just won a national championship.

Why not?

How much better is he going to get? How much more playing time is he getting with Sabb coming on?

I believe today was also the deadline to withdraw from the draft.  I haven't seen any names of any significance (or any at all for that matter), so all college teams apparently suck at NIL.

I wonder if even some revenue sharing with players (e.g., $100K / player, ~$8MM of $80+MM TV payout per team) would convince guys like him to stay another year. I would love to also see UM develop a really useful educational track for people who already graduated and are taking 5th years  (e.g., teaching certificate etc that would make them good candidates to go straight into high school teaching + coaching if pros don't work out etc.).

Sure, it would be nice to have Johnson return since he's quality depth, but if a guy has been in the program for five years, is 23 years old, and most importantly (to me, anyway) has his degree, I'm not going to begrudge him wanting to get on with his life.

If he lands a spot in the NFL, great, but he's a smart guy who has a promising life ahead of him regardless of what happens.

I'd hate to make one of the biggest decisions of my life, be excited, and then come here and have supposed FANS talking shit on me.

Some of you ass holes need to learn there is a time and place. Now is the time to wish Q good luck and thank him for all the big plays he made.
