Question on Good Places to Stay Close to Ann Arbor
Hey Everyone,
I surprised my dad for my 30th birthday and am taking him to the Purdue game Saturday, He's a lifelong fan that has never been before so should be a great time even in the cold. We got these tickets kind of late an upon looking at hotels close by we definitely can't afford to stay in town. My question is do any of you happen to know of a good place to stay within 10-20 miles of Ann Arbor? It seems the rates drop significantly drop once you get that far out.

Embassy suites DTW is solid, idk about "good." Holiday Inn Express Brighton, right next to 23. Sheraton Novi. TownePlace Suites Livonia. All decently priced, all solid stays, all about 20 miles out.
I personally like the Sheraton. You can usually get a room on Priceline or the like for about $150 out the door, and it's the cleanest imo. Also lots of food and entertainment options nearby.

i’ve offered my guest / kids bedroom to robf and xm and they have yet to take me up on it. A little less than a mile from the stadium - one double bed - your own bath - blueberry pancakes or egg scramble for breakfast - me and the wife (both alums) and cat (grad of the Cat Cafe) will be upstairs.

Awesome gift for your dad! My kids don't get me anything on their birthdays.

I’ve done ABnB and VRBO on a couple of the Portage Lakes as well. Getting out of town on Huron Rd going west always seems to be pretty easy and staying on a lake is always great.
