QBs

Late to the party. I had something emergent to take care of and couldn't watch the game.

Uh yeah...but not unexpected to me. I mean Michigan just sucks as an away team. Anyways, seeing box score DMac came in and drove the field

To folks who saw the game: did he look better than Shea ?

I'm asking because sometimes small tweaks in execution leads to drastic change. What if offensive ineptitude is QB related ? (As in Shea is too small to run an effective rpo slant to WR/getting batted down; not a running QB much etc etc)

DM has a long way to go as a passer - can he become pretty good? probably?

DM definitely gives us the running option and ability to survive w/o an elite TB if Zach is injured.

Shea looks completely out of sync. The Army game and some airmailed throws in that game were not a fluke.

This year isn't going to be THE YEAR so we need to focus on beating Sparty and having a better QB situation for 2020+.

He had a couple nice passes over some defenders and made a couple quick decisions. But also forced a in a couple passes that could've been INT's. If think he's more of a threat in the RPO's with his legs and makes good decisions on keeping it or handing it off. Does tend to get laid out and hurt

The game was like someone got one of those monkey's paws that grants wishes in ironically bad ways, and perused this forum for ideas of what to do.

"Stop mindlessly running the ball into the line so much." OK, we didn't do that.

"Put in Ben Mason to smash it in when we are close to the goal line." Oops. Should have been more specific when we wished for Patterson not to fumble.

"Put in McCaffrey--he'll lead us down the field!" Oops. Forgot to wish that so many of our gains didn't come from 30 yards of penalties from McCaffrey nearly getting decapitated.

I don't know what the hell just happened, other than that we got our asses handed to us. I hope you are right about small tweaks, and that we make them going forward.

The quarterback is almost unimportant since the o Line can't block and we have no runningbacks.

This coaching staff is a disaster a d has no idea how to prepare a team to play.  Thay all looked lost from the opening kickoff.

Look at what we are discussing... retread and guys who can't beat out a retread.  Harbaugh can't even recruit one qb let alone coach.  He's lost whatever he had in ability to coach.  Turnovers... unacceptable.  Clock management, never ever was remotely good at it.  Talent?  Where?  These kids run and trip more than 6 year olds.  Can't run routes or catch passes.  Make it stop.   Please make it stop.

I agree with that want list, but if you’re saying he can’t recruit high level talent, you’re flat out wrong. If you want to say that he can’t get high level play out of them, that’s certainly been an issue. But he’s got a top 20 overall player coming in at the position. It’s not a recruiting issue.

I thought he played well. Seemed to get team into rhythm and lined up quick. I like his height and he reads the field. I think he'll be solid.

The o line wasn't garbage. But they were def mediocre... And they don't seem to take angry pride in keeping our QBs clean. Wisconsin leads with their helmets into our QBs over and over. Straight up cheap shot on McCaffrey. And our o line just stands looking to the sideline for comfort. Protect ya boy! What the hell?

I don't see how you can defend the OL.  Michigan had 40 yards rushing.  If you subtract all the negative plays, they had 53.

Dylan McCaffrey was the leading rusher with 21 yards.  He was the only Michigan player to average more than 3 yards per attempt.

Wisconsin had 2 sacks, 6 TFLs, and 11(!) QB hurries.  (As a meaningless comparison, Michigan's comparable numbers were 1, 2, and 2).

I'm sorry, that's not mediocre, that's awful.

No, he didn't. He couldn't read the defense or make a throw, and he didn't know when to slide when taking off on a run.

Dylan looked much more in command. He's suffering from lack of game reps. He should have been the starter from Game 1 and he would be much better by now and certainly by the end of the season. Harbaugh always starts the senior because he's still living in the 70s.

Shea takes to long to make a decision. He can’t seem to find open receivers. Then he panics and starts to run around. The o-line doesn’t help. They are great at the lookout block. There is something wrong in Ann Arbor. All signs point to Harbaugh. I wonder if the players are tired of his antics. Maybe that’s why so many kids transfer out. If so get rid of him.
