Since you were pretty knowledgeable about the ticket situation usually, what do you think the chances are if I requested additional tickets this year? I was offered three last year but I was an idiot and only took two. This is only my second year and have minimal points.

And do you (any other MGoUsers) have any insight into whether the athletic department would honor requests (or put my name in queue) for additional seats in close proximity to my current seats?

Whoever owns the four directly in front of me is likely a scalper, since I've not seen the same folks sit there in the seven years I've had my seats. I'm two rows from the top in the southeast corner. It'd be nice to be able to request 2 or 4 of those seats if and when the become available.

Just curious about protocol with the department in this type of situation.

EDIT: I'm also 2.5 priority points outside of the top 20,000, fwiw.

For example, the highest ranking donors will get tickets honored for the toughest away games like OSU and the best seats at bowl games or even final four tickets etc. As you work your way down the list some will get offered partial away games and other pre-sale dates to purchase packages etc. Bottom line, the higher you are on that list the more accommodating they are to your requests. Another example, donor events to have lunch with the coaches after they came out of the submarine last year or "Signing of the Stars" events. Everything is based on the donor points.

Last year was my first year and I was offered 3 seats. Took two but I suspect a similar situation will happen again this year. And yeah, I only saw a couple of repeat attendees. To be fair I went to every game but took a different family member or friend to all but two games that my wife wanted to attend.

It is quite the investment but it was worth every penny. I was able to go with my wife, a great friend who now lives in GA, my dad who knew nothing about American football (I'm from a futebol country :) and he absolutely loved the experience at the big house (BYU game was perfect weather and the crowd was really into it) my mother in law and my wife's grandpa who hadn't gone to a Michigan game in over 15 years. Amazing memories and it was only year one! Can't wait for 2016, Go Blue!

Ha - just paid mine a few hours ago. That put a serious dent in my wallet. Did anybody pay with e-check to get the extra priority point? I was going to but I figured the rewards miles I'm getting for putting the PSD on my credit card is worth more than the extra priority point.

5 in a row to start the season -- that will be draining to attend that many in a row, and I live 30 mins from Ann Arbor.  I don't know how people can travel long distances for games week after week like they do.

We went to every game this year and the bowl game. We travel from MD and our group is from all over (NY, NC, IL, OH, MI, VA, NV, TX, Canada, VA) etc. We are making special arrangements next year to stay a week and hit two games and then leaving a car at the hotel by the airport and flying out Sunday and returning Thurs or Fri to start a new weekend. You have to be creative.
