Prediction: 2018 WR Recruit Dillon Spalding

Submitted by Dennis on
WR Recruit Dillon Spalding has narrowed his recruitment to West Virginia and Michigan. While WV is near his home state, I think he'll choose Michigan. My prediction, based on his film and size (6'1"/216lbs.), is that we'll utilize him as a tight end. He's shown capability in blocking roles as well as the ability fend off DBs for possession. What do you guys and gals think? https://247sports.com/Player/Dillon-Spalding-87990

I think he could be an effective slot WR/H-Back hybrid.  His strength could make him a valuable blocker in the slot and he would still be a tough match-up for LBs.  I do not believe he is fast enough to play outside, but if he is a true route artisan, he might contribute there.

If he bulks up to 225-230, he could be an effective H-Back--faster than our current FBs with good route skills but big enough to block.

I hope he commits because I'd love to see how the coaches utilize his skillset.

This thread should be getting so much more heat.

This kid is not coming here. Classic case of a kid being a silent commit to hometown school and then chooses his best blue blood offer to call in his "top 2".

And the TE call is so far off

He’s the oldest looking 18-year-old white kid I’ve ever seen. I don’t know what kind a difference maker he would make it Michigan. Is he the kind of guy that would scare defenses of Ohio state, and Penn State. I don’t think so
