Hate to be downer, but I don't think we are going to see a contract extension for Harbaugh...
Like everyone else reading this sentence, we all want Harbaugh to come back for next season. But why would Harbaugh want to come back to more of this faux-scandal garbage? Why would Harbaugh want to return to a team that is about to empty 20 of it's best players into the NFL? 2024 isnt a reloading season, it's a rebuilding season.
The Bears and the Chargers are desperate for a HC next season. Harbaugh's ultimate goal in life is to win a SB. He never won a SB as a player. He came close as a HC.
It's painful to type, but dont expect Harbaugh to be on the UM sideline for the 2024 season. If any season could motivate Harbaugh to leave UM, it's what happened this season, combined with the season Harbaugh would face in 2024.

I'd never call 2024 a rebuild on defense, too much high quality experience even if less obvious stars. A retuning, a shoring up, etc.
