I can't count how many times I've watched that, and Chesson let up down the stretch when Jabrill caught him. That doesn't mean he's faster than Jabrill, just that it's not useful in determining who is faster.

He was coming in on an angle, i.e. he had more distance to cover. This is fairly basic geometry. Of course it looked like Peppers was going faster up the field when they weren't running directly side by side. This clip is useless for determining who is faster. I cannot believe educated people are arguing about this.
Couldn't agree more.
lighting.

lol.. all the arguing. We have two fast guys on our team.
Pretty sure Harbaugh has confirmed that Chesson is faster than Peppers. Peppers might have even confirmed that as well.

Peppers did win the fastest man during spring this year, but Chesson was hurt all spring.
Talk about the play?
"106-yard return. the blocks were sharp and crisp. Timing was nearly perfect. 10 guys, 11 guys hustling and 10 of them blocking, blocking for Jehu and he got - he is the fastest player on the team. I know Jabrill said one of the fastest but he is the fastest, and he showed it today."

Need him to create turnovers!
until I see him head-to-head with Rich Eisen, the Gold Standard in 40s.
is pretty dang fast. And, would have been tied for the fourth fastest 40 at this year's NFL combine.
Sorry MGoFriends - I am calling at least three fakes out of five on this one. Hope I am wrong.

was Lee (OSU), who posted a 4.47. Only 4 total under 4.6. Great time if true and would have put him up with the top CBs.
Peppers is going into the league as a safety not an lb. That said, his time is amazing for a safety or cornerback at his size.
NFL are looking at him as a LB.
He would need to add about 20 pounds on him to be an NFL LB. Its all semantics in the Michigan defense as the hybrid/nickel position he played last year is extremely similar to what the SAM is going to be this year. As a safety, he's absolutely ready to be in the NFL.
is 230, Deone Bucannon is 216, Myles Jack is 225, Thomas Davis 235. Jabrill Peppers apparently is looking to bulk up to 230 lbs to play the demand of LB from what I've been hearing.

Speed is great and all but I hope he improves big time on his tackling and makes people feel da pain!
When has Peppers ever tackled poorly?

I was only stating I'd like to see him improve in that regards vs speed. As Harbaugh says, "improve every day."
weird, i consider him an A+ tackler at cb. i'd vote hands or coverage as areas to improve.
hes not exactly deion sanders in the tackling department.
hopefully youre kidding bc peppers was a decent tackler last season, at least for a guy who came in as a CB.
he obviously has some work to do in that area, especially if hes to play more of a true LB role this fall (and a lot of thats angles, filling, shedding, timing, figuring out the game from that position, etc versus purely form tackling), but hes by no means a finesse player
I never wrote or hinted he was a bad tackler. Only that he IMPROVES. Some of you need to get out a bit more and stop getting all bent out of shape on a post.
I responded when no one else had. If others had said something I wouldn't have. Its an annoying feature of this blog and the internet in general that even if 9 people have pointed something out a 10th person will still come along and throw his 2 cents in too.
Baloney.
When you say: "I hope he improves big time on his tackling," the only sensible and logical interpretation is that you're directly implying that his tackling needs substantial improvement. That may not have been what you intended to mean, but the subtextual meaning is a criticism that anybody can discern.
Now maybe Peppers does need to make great strides in his tackling; if that's what you believe, fine. There's nobody on the team so great that they can't improve.
you tend to get eaten.
Not worth the risk.
Peppers made a ton of sick open field tackles on fast WR's last season. Many of them saved touchdowns. The man can tackle.
his shoe string tackle literally single handedly won us the game vs minnesota. that and awful coaching by minny to end the game.
