Penn State Roll Call & Parking/Drinking Thread

Submitted by 2Blue4You on November 8th, 2023 at 11:23 AM

Maybe this is OT during the week, but who's going?  Planning on heading most of the way Friday and staying about an hour outside of State College.  Noon kick, so we will try to get in early and parked.  Any advice for cheap, walkable parking?  We don't plan on tailgating at our car, rather meet up with friends at tailgate spots TBD.  We do hope to enjoy our W in State College post game and check out campus/downtown and grab food and drinks.

I recall the bad traffic on the way in about 10 years ago, but thanks to Gibbons missing like 10 field goals traffic was a breeze on the way out w/ all the whiteout folks celebrating their OT win.  I want to avoid traffic by staying around to celebrate our win.  Go Blue!

My Dad and I will be there. First time going to State College for both of us. Our hotel is in Clearfield, about an hour out.  We reserved a parking spot in advance, lot 34. Go Blue!

I stayed in Clearfield in 2008 and had a great time at Denny's Beer Barrel Pub with two minor kids. We split the 2 lb burger and it was great. I was glad we had a refrigerator in our room because we had leftovers. The thing about the 2 pounders and above is they're like a very beefy meatloaf. There is some kind of minimal filler to help hold the burger together but it had fantastic flavor and the bun was really good too. They are known for their huge burgers and burger challenges, eating the 2 pounder, 3 pounder, or 6 pounder in a certain amount of time. They even have a 15 pound burger challenge for two. They have a lot of items on their menu and a decent beer selection. I don't do mixed drinks, so I can't really comment on those.
