I’ve gone to many games in Detroit, and I lived downtown. Although some of what you say is true, this take is antiquated. There are more hotels now. And stops from the Qline and people mover are closer than a half mile, even though they aren’t very useful. Downtown Detroit is an awesome place now, and for the past 15 years.

There are plenty of safe places to park now. In fact, a lot of places would like to take your money for safe parking.

Detroit still lags behind other major cities when it comes to hotel space. Crain's Detroit has put out multiple articles over the past few years talking about the lack of hotel space compared to other cities. Just look up Detroit and All Star game and you'll find articles about how we're trying to increase our hotel space.

I guess my problem with the public transit is that it's not very useful, as you said. I tried the Qline once and it's a cool concept, but not practical if it can't branch out from its current footprint.

Will never happen. It's a chance for the B1G to showcase the conference, so they will always play it indoors where the temperature and weather will be controlled.

Indianapolis, Minneapolis and Detroit are the only cities right now that meet the criteria.

That seems like a massively inconvenient location to have the Championship. Chicago, Indy, Detroit, Cleveland (except it's a boring dump), and Pittsburgh all seem like reasonable travel options for a decent number of schools.

The concept is awesome, but what you’d all need to remember is that 7-8 times a decade, your opponent is going to be Wisconsin, minus the one off years where Iowa or Nebraska might sneak in.

Madison is a two hour drive from Green Bay, so the BTCG would be virtually a home game for Wisconsin if it were played in Green Bay. I’m sure Michigan fans would still gobble up their allotment of the tickets, but I’m thinking the allotment would still end up anywhere between 60-40 and 70-30 in favor of Wisconsin.

Cool in principle but not sure it would work out. Weather aside, does Green Bay have the hotel space? (They may because, Packers of course). How would flights work?

I think in terms of what makes the most sense outside of Indy are either Chicago or Detroit (groundbreaking, I know).

I'm down for this idea. B1G should move around to different NFL Stadiums around the schools. How cool would it be to have the games at Solider Field, Heinz Field, or MetLife Stadium? A B1G Championship with some weather to deal with would make it more interesting and a better atmosphere than Lucas Oil or a Ford Field in my opinion.

So if Michigan can get there, in my lifetime, I will have to freeze my ass off, when I go. I'd rather have it in Indy, in comfort. Also, our new offense will fair better in ideal weather conditions, like the dome.

Would be a great attraction for West Coast and Southern recruits to watch the best two Big10 schools freeze their asses off in a championship game?

I'd rather it be played on campus or at Soldier Field, but Lambeau would be preferable to Indy.

Indoor football is an abomination.
