B1G news in NJ football, as Rutgers tries to corner their man and wall off the Garden State.  Schiano in play, according to numerous sources.

Completely ignoring your laughably incorrect assertion that Rutgers has more talent in the NFL than Michigan...

Let me get this straight: Michigan doesn't get credit for Tom Brady (because he's...too good?) but Rutgers gets credit for Saquon Barkley because...he was committed there at one point and in your opinion would have stuck with it had Schiano been the coach? I get that right?

probably a smart hire for them... guy was responsible for the greatest period in Rutgers football history.

tough to go back again and recapture what they had previously though.

How much of his success at Rutgers (2001-2011) can be attributed to playing in the Big East? The conference is a basketball/other sports conference and the football teams have all struggled in the bigger conferences.

Former members such as Miami, Virginia Tech, Rutgers, and West Virginia have all gone on to major football conferences and none have actually won a conference championship in their new conference. All those schools are in talent rich areas also (maybe not West Virginia as much as the others).

Maybe he gets them to respectable and bowl-eligible, however contending for a conference title I think would be a stretch.

I most definitely did not say anything about Schiano bringing Rutgers into B1G title contention. Yes, playing in the Big East was why Rutgers was ever a conference contender, but even those Rutgers teams would win between 3-5 games in the Big Ten. That's nothing that can be said about Rutgers since Schiano left, possibly except for Gary Nova's best season.

Terrible title, man.  Makes it sound like a done deal.  How hard is it to just type, "Schiano meeting with Rutgers about HC position"?  Fuck.

That video has not aged well. Love the Ray Rice appearance. Plus, would they even allow a real axe on the field in 2019?

Also, I never realized how much a younger Schiano looked like a cross between George W Bush and Lloyd Christmas.
