Our defense is what so far?

After 2 games how good does everyone think our defense is?

MTSU defensive stats vs. CSU remind you this team lost to a first year Division 1 program 44-7 James Madison.

9 sacks, 13 tfl, 4 PD 5 QB hurries and 1 Def. TD and 2 int.

I hope our defense is really good but after seeing what MTSU did to CSU I think their O-line is terrible.

The Maryland game I think will give us a look at how our defense really is.

I think we have our best DT since Mo Hurst which opens up quite a bit of opportunities for the rest of our D-line and LBs. I think our secondary will be better than last year by mid season if they are not already better now. I think we will be able to tell a lot more about our edge players come the Maryland game. If they continue to wreck havoc then I believe we have a recipe of an elite team. I believe our offense is quite a bit better this year than last which also helps out our D by not putting all the pressure on them and providing them more breaks throughout games by staying on the field longer. I believe this is the most balanced team in the Harbaugh era. Go Blue!

Sometimes I hate speculative projection shit like this. There's gonna be ups and downs like every seasons and fans will freak out as soon as the defense looks shaky.  Our linebackers will get exposed at somepoint, that's virtually guaranteed. I'm sure I'll be upset when we lose too. McCarthy will get dinged up at some point or not play well. That's also pretty much guaranteed, but of course the fans boo Cade. A college kid who beat OSU and lead Mich to a BigTen Championship. I know half the people are dumber than average by definition, but I'm always amazed at how shallow and incapable of balanced thoughs and emotions so many people are. It's a game we love bc it's an escape from the hellscape nightmare of normal life, but it's just a fucking game. Relax and enjoy it for what it is. Life is too short to mouth ejaculate your opinion jizz all over the season and every conceivable outcome. I need a drink.

Kudos to you for acknowledging your information source...looks as though many others have the same one-just won't disclose it.

Nobody knows for sure about many things regarding how this season will play out. But can all the hand-wringers at least agree with "So far so good"???

Coach Harbaugh is a huge "complimentary football"  guy. It will be interesting to see if there will be times when he asks JJ to turtle the offense a bit and grind out 3 down,11 yard first downs and 6 minute possessions. I'm looking at you Maryland and OSU.

In scholastic terms, the defense is like someone with a Master's degree in Mathematics who's taken a high school algebra test.

Of course they did very well, but it's not exactly a fair test of their abilities.

Aggressive, smart, and a bunch of dogs (in a good way). What we don't know is what level the talent is. It's high...but is it championship level...not sure.

I'm not sure if OP is saying CSU lost to James Madison or MTSU did, but JMU was on App State's level in the FCS and beat Va Tech some years back in a FCS/FBS matchup.

Also, don't mess with the Sun Belt Conference. It's a shame we don't have an expanded playoff this year because their conference would be well on their way to having a seat at the larger tournament.

Fast as hell, but. We’ve played no one worth a dam so who knows when a real team laces up the cleats. Maryland looks to be one of the better teams in the big ten, simply because the big is ass this year.

No doubt the Maryland will be the biggest test to our defense. If our guys can play the way they did vs OSU last years which greatly slowed down that potent offense, the we should be in good shape against a healthy MD offense.

It could be fun predicting the score on this one.

Deep. Talented. Young. Untested.

DC might be the biggest positive so far. Minter appears to be a great move after Macdonald, with the defense playing fast and well organized immediately to start the season.
