OTish - Michigan iWatch Faces

Submitted by 5th and Long on October 7th, 2019 at 8:17 PM

I have a game day tradition of wearing my Michigan watch, but lately I've been wearing an iWatch to track activity.  Seeing Harbaugh's Michigan watch on Saturday inspired me to figure out how to get the logo on the iWatch.  Turns out, it's not so hard and can be done with the Photo face option.  So I Photoshopped a few variations.  During commercials I ended up duplicating them for the other three iWatch sizes to share here.  Link below.

As with most things Apple it's restrictive and limits the amount of options for laying out the clock and complications, and font colors, but it still works.

NOTES

  • There are folders for each iWatch size (38mm, 40mm, 42mm, 44mm)
  • I've only tested them on 38mm, but based on specs the others should hopefully line up.  If not let me know and I'll adjust.
  • All are designed for the bottom aligned time and complications

HOW TO SET

  • Save the desired images to your iPhone photos/camera roll.
  • Open the Watch app on the iPhone
  • Click on Face Gallery at the bottom of the app
  • Scroll down to Photos -> tap any of the photo faces you see.
  • Under "Photos" choose "Custom"
  • Add the photo you want
  • Then tap "Add" from the upper right
  • Tap the "My Watch" icon in lower left
  • Choose the new Face from "My Faces"
  • You can choose the Complications from here, then...
  • Scroll to bottom and tap "Set as Current Watch Face"
  • You can also change the watch face or the complications by force press of the iWatch face.

If you'd like a non-digital UM watch I found mine at M Lahart website

I prefer not to have an Apple Watch (fyi, there's no such product as an "iWatch") on during Michigan games because it measures ECG and has a built-in 911 dial functionality. I'm pretty sure I would trigger an ambulance call watching the offense.

Frankly speaking, I don't like e-watches at all. I tried different models from Apple, Xiaomi, other companies. Meh. I always wear my Jowissa watches and use a smartphone. Never combine. Maybe someday some e-watch will finally satisfy me but I doubt.
