OT: Worst Show You Are Currently Watching Not Named True Detective II

Submitted by UNCWolverine on

Piggy-backing off the thread below what are your recent most disappointing shows/movies?

For me it's the Twins Peaks re-boot. I initially got sucked into watching the original back when I was in HS becaue the girl I had a crush on watched it. I actually ended up really liking it and was pretty excited when they announced this new season. I actually pretty randomly ended up on their set about a year ago and got to watch them film a few scenes as well as chat with a few of the cast. I went back and rewatched both seasons in preparation of this new season.

Such a disappointing third season for me. Going with two Agent Cooper characters was a bad decision. Also doing their best to interject all of the original characters into this script makes it feel desperate and clunky. I'm now just fast forwarding the show until I get to see those scenes I saw in person, want to put it out of its misery.

Fifty Shades Darker bum you out, Emoji Movie ruin your weekend? 24: Legacy? Feel free to air your grievances here.

I'm at my in-laws' house and they are watching "Everybody Loves Raymond" right now. I think I win. (Or lose, as the case may be.)

I was disappointed in fx's The League . The first season was pretty good, 2nd alright , and then the rest just got too silly. Wish it would've been on hbo although FX has some really good shows on it now .

Jimmy is a fatally flawed but likeable character, and there are some really good performances, e.g. the scene where Chuck loses his shit at Jimmy's hearing was brilliant acting. At times I've liked this show more than Breaking Bad; although, I wouldn't say that as a whole. It might be a little too slow at times, but the continued back story of Mike, Nacho, the Salamancas, and Gustavo has me interested, and as with Breaking Bad, the writing is always well thought out. No camera angles are chosen without a purpose, and every character is developed for later. There are no loose ends. I give it 8/10 or so.

I continue to watch the Walking Dead despite the fact it is basically the A Team + Gillian's Island with a few zombies thrown in. It really is a historically bad show. It's not going to age well.

The Mist is not quite Under the Dome bad, but it is getting there quick.

It is the kind of bad where I sit there and wonder what the writers were thinking.  There are some concepts that could work but just don't.  Plus the dialogue is painfully bad and poorly delivered.

This one is easy for me. Season 2 of Last Chance U. It's pretty much the same thing every episode, dating back to series 1 episode 1. Wasn't even able to make it to episode 3.

My girlfriend has been watching 'How to Get Away with Murder' and it, in my opinion, is pretty awful. It is a glorified soap opera saved only by Viola Davis' (over?)Acting. Truly an UN-believable show.

While I enjoyed Breaking Bad, I think it's the most overrated show ever. People that classify it as the best way too much. In my opinion, it is not better than Sons of Anarchy, Game of Thrones, or The Walking Dead. Also, The Office is miserable - can't stand it.

My girlfriend and I watch every episode of Teen Mom. Mostly to roast the show as it plays and to root for some of them to die in a blimp accident. So it entertains us, but only for a very dark reason.

One show I used to like was Scrubs; but now whenever I see re-runs on I can't stand it. I abhor it for some reason.

True Detective Season 2 is a good call. I am not one to quit when I've watched several episodes, but I couldn't get through it. For some reason, I had never watched Star Trek (original). This summer, I started watching from the beginning. Some good stuff, but I'm now in the middle of the third and last season, and am surprised about how bad and preachy it got.

I wonder, had season 2 of True Detective been called LA Crime or something like that if it would have fared better with fans. The show certainly has its flaws but I feel like it gets dragged down even more due to the season 1 comparisons.

I enjoyed Taylor Kitch's character and the montage of Colin Farrel getting down 80s style but I did not love the show.
