Let’s go Nats!!
October 29th, 2019 at 9:47 PM ^
Go 'stros!
October 29th, 2019 at 9:45 PM ^
Go Astros!
October 29th, 2019 at 9:49 PM ^
Nats: 7-21 risp games 1&2.
Since then???
October 29th, 2019 at 9:51 PM ^
Hr Nats. 2-2 top of 5th
October 29th, 2019 at 9:56 PM ^
Typical verlander. 3-2 nats
October 29th, 2019 at 10:02 PM ^
There's a reason he's 0-5 in WS....
October 29th, 2019 at 10:01 PM ^
JV has not been good, at all, his last few starts.
October 29th, 2019 at 10:07 PM ^
Strasburg dialed in.
Should be a good battle to the end.
October 29th, 2019 at 10:05 PM ^
Strasburg has been coming back from a few hairy moments nicely.
October 29th, 2019 at 10:13 PM ^
Altuve way too aggressive.
October 29th, 2019 at 10:14 PM ^
As a Tigers fan, Verlander’s pitch count still gives me ptsd.
October 29th, 2019 at 10:15 PM ^
Astros just blew a great chance to tie up or take the lead.
October 29th, 2019 at 10:22 PM ^
Seems to be the telling stat.
RISP.... Drive em in, you win.
October 29th, 2019 at 10:24 PM ^
Go Nats!!! Was glad to see the two HRs, hope Stras can hold on...
October 29th, 2019 at 10:27 PM ^
As a Montreal Expo fan who will never get over 1994 and how the franchise was gutted thereafter, I can't stomach Washington winning it all. Let's go 'Stros, even if you don't belong in the AL...
October 30th, 2019 at 10:41 AM ^
Makes no sense. Washington National are the former Montreal Expos. Same organization. Astro's are sign stealing cheaters.
October 30th, 2019 at 11:04 AM ^
I think the unretiring of jersey numbers was the last straw for those Expos fans willing to give the benefit of the doubt to the new version of the franchise. If the organization had any interest in maintaining relations they wouldn't have had journeymen wearing #30 and Yan Gomes would not be wearing 10. If they want to pretend the Expos never happened, that's fine. Fuck 'em.
October 29th, 2019 at 10:38 PM ^
Wow! Max to close today and close tomorrow?
October 29th, 2019 at 10:43 PM ^
That’s a Bullshit call!!! And it came far too late. Fuck this home cooking bullshit!
October 30th, 2019 at 9:30 AM ^
I think the League is fortunate that the Nationals won that game. An absolutely shit call that should never had been made.
October 29th, 2019 at 10:44 PM ^
omg that's awful
October 29th, 2019 at 10:48 PM ^
Reviewing it now.
I think it was a horseshit call.
October 29th, 2019 at 10:47 PM ^
You can’t blame the runner for a bad throw. NY better overturn that!
October 29th, 2019 at 10:51 PM ^
Exactly right. And Smoltz is full of it saying they are taught to throw at the runner to get that call. Total BS. It was a shitty throw and if it was on then it would’ve been a no call.
October 29th, 2019 at 10:48 PM ^
Wait, is this reviewable and if so why did it take so long? Or did mlb just say fuck the rules, we are going to review it anyway?
October 29th, 2019 at 10:50 PM ^
I think they have to review it
October 29th, 2019 at 10:49 PM ^
This is a long delay.
October 29th, 2019 at 10:50 PM ^
This call will probably determine the game.
October 29th, 2019 at 10:50 PM ^
Turner just called out Joe Torrey! “He’s sitting there with his dead, he doesn’t want to lookup”!! LMAO!! C’mon Joe, do the right thing and get it corrected.
October 29th, 2019 at 10:51 PM ^
There's going to be a few ejections if this stands.
October 29th, 2019 at 10:51 PM ^
Garbage call and WTF are they taking so long? If this was happening to the Tigers I would be having an anyeruism.
October 29th, 2019 at 10:51 PM ^
Ump in NY was in the shitter when they rang in
October 29th, 2019 at 10:51 PM ^
Fucking bullshit.
October 29th, 2019 at 10:52 PM ^
They didn't want to admit the mistake, lol. Makes it even worse.
October 29th, 2019 at 10:53 PM ^
BS decision
October 29th, 2019 at 10:53 PM ^
Looks like a Game 7.
Home teams can't win.
October 30th, 2019 at 1:20 AM ^
It's the road-field advantage
October 29th, 2019 at 10:53 PM ^
F U MLB, that was awesome.
October 29th, 2019 at 10:53 PM ^
Fuck you, MLB!! That should be a 3-run shot.
October 30th, 2019 at 7:22 AM ^
Smolta stained his credibility immeasurably by saying:
'Well, nobody hurt here....it all worked out with the Rendon HR, it's tough umpiring "Live".....
ARE YOU KIDDING ME???????????????????????????
Sorry John:
1) The Umpires get paid to umpire "live".
2) The Nats lost their Manager over the worst call in World Series history.
3) The Nats were cheated out of a run.
John Smolz is a TV Stooge.
Joe Torre is WORSE!
(imagine if the same situation had happened to Torre when he was the Yankee Manager....)
October 30th, 2019 at 9:19 AM ^
The 1985 Cardinals would like to have a word with you about worst calls in W.S. history.
October 30th, 2019 at 10:32 AM ^
For real, overreact much?? Wow.
October 29th, 2019 at 10:53 PM ^
I didn't realize John O'Neill was also an MLB umpire.
October 30th, 2019 at 12:56 AM ^
As a Braves fan, I know Sam "Infield Fly" Holbrook all too well.
That said, Turner clearly ran from home to first in fair territory. The call was correct. It's not really expected to come up on throws from the third baseman -- it's mostly intended to keep players from blocking the ability of the pitcher or catcher to throw them out after a bunt -- but it is the rule.
And, also, to defend Smoltz a bit -- he was a pitcher, and I absolutely believe that they tell the pitcher to drill the batter in the back if he's in fair territory. I doubt they tell the third baseman to do that, though.
I could see an argument if Turner had run in foul territory all the way until he approached the base, and then crossed over to hit the bag in stride, but that's not what happened.
October 30th, 2019 at 8:48 AM ^
It's a judgement call, which means the umpire can determine whether the batter was intentionally trying to interfere with the throw. Turner was squarely in the base path - where he was supposed to be - the last few steps. And, in fact, he touched the base with his LEFT leg, without needing to do anything other than run normally. If he touched fair territory, it was half way to the bag, once or twice. The first baseman's glove hit his ass AFTER he touched the base, because the throw was short of the base and outside. It was a shitty throw.
You are blaming the runner, who is in HIS base path, for a shitty throw by the third baseman and a poor fielding effort by the first baseman.
October 29th, 2019 at 10:54 PM ^
Rendon to the rescue!!!!
October 29th, 2019 at 10:55 PM ^
There.
Call HIM out, motherfuckers.
October 29th, 2019 at 10:57 PM ^
The Nats don't need the 7th inning stretch. They stretched enough when the umpires bent them over.
October 29th, 2019 at 10:57 PM ^
I have a feeling we are going to find out that it wasn't actually reviewable.
