Sure. Managing adults can absolutely easier than managing college kids. But its still stressful enough you’d expect it affect his “health problems.”
Or maybe he doesn’t have any. Doubt he’d lie though ??♂️
January 14th, 2021 at 7:18 PM ^
Managing a bunch of rich dudes who don’t care if they play or win because they get paid either way is easier than college kids?
Playing for a contract is a lot different than playing for a team. Bo
January 14th, 2021 at 8:02 PM ^
NFL contracts often aren’t guaranteed. Those guys need to see the field if they want to keep getting paid.
January 14th, 2021 at 9:21 PM ^
Ok. League minimum is $610,000. It’s not like they’re struggling to buy groceries or pay utility bills.
January 14th, 2021 at 6:57 PM ^
Didn’t he actually go on record saying Notre Dame was his dream job?
January 14th, 2021 at 7:02 PM ^
Not according to OSU fans it wasn’t.
January 14th, 2021 at 6:50 PM ^
You mean his brain disorder that caused him to forget to report domestic violence and help the victims is cured? It's a miracle! What a story!
January 14th, 2021 at 7:28 PM ^
Another team - the same ole urban M. Who knows what lies and scandals await?
January 14th, 2021 at 6:50 PM ^
Holly cow, I was confident until now it was not going to happen.
Well, I guess this is good news for us?
January 14th, 2021 at 6:51 PM ^
He'll have health issues within 3 years
January 14th, 2021 at 6:51 PM ^
Don’t be lonely, Urban. Why not bring some of your Columbus friends around? I hear Jacksonville is the Ohio of the South!
January 14th, 2021 at 6:52 PM ^
Bye Felicia

You're not marrying her, you're just banging her.
January 14th, 2021 at 7:29 PM ^
Would. I’m surprised she didn’t get into porn
January 14th, 2021 at 7:52 PM ^
Maybe she did?
January 14th, 2021 at 6:52 PM ^
I’d just like to congratulate Urban for overcoming a serious enough health concern that it ended his college coaching career.
January 14th, 2021 at 7:07 PM ^
twice
January 14th, 2021 at 6:55 PM ^
wow....I honestly did not expect that to actually happen
January 14th, 2021 at 6:56 PM ^
I think I saw it here somewhere, and I agreed...I'm not sure he can scheme at a NFL level. He's used to having better Jimmies and Joes and there's a reason none (NONE!) of his QBs have ever done anything in the NFL.
Saban, who runs a NFL JV team, couldn't make it.
January 14th, 2021 at 7:05 PM ^
Alex Smith seems to have done okay.
January 14th, 2021 at 7:09 PM ^
Maybe relative to the average NFL quarterback, but as a first overall pick, I would say he underachieved
January 14th, 2021 at 7:10 PM ^
Eh. I can think of a lot of #1 overall picks who didn't last nearly as long. He's not Brady or Manning, but he's a good QB.
January 14th, 2021 at 11:21 PM ^
Only after Harbaugh helped him. And still got passed over by Kaepernick.
January 14th, 2021 at 8:50 PM ^
Smith was a 3x pro-bowler...I’d say that’s 1 that has done something...The rest were a waste tho
January 14th, 2021 at 6:57 PM ^
Took only 2 years for this to become a lie.
January 14th, 2021 at 7:07 PM ^
Anyone wanna check in on the eleven warriors to see how they’re taking this news
January 14th, 2021 at 7:44 PM ^
I did a very, very quick look. It's just a lot of good luck, hope the health is OK, don't take any coaches. I saw no outrage
January 14th, 2021 at 10:20 PM ^
Not a lot of outrage on 11 Whiners. However it was surprising that there were actually some fans on there who believed his bullshit story about “health issues” and how he would never coach again. Some of the posters were definitely calling out Meyer for the way he left OSU only to end up coaching again basically a year later.
January 15th, 2021 at 1:53 AM ^
It was a lie from the moment it was said.
January 14th, 2021 at 6:59 PM ^
Just the thought of MOVING to Jacksonville gives me a migraine
January 14th, 2021 at 7:06 PM ^
and COVID
January 14th, 2021 at 7:10 PM ^
When my daughter's husband joined the Navy, she told him it was fine, but that she did not want to ever move to Florida. Guess where his next duty station is. Yep, Mayport. Could be the end of a fine 15-year relationship. And now that they have to move there the same time as Urban? Can it get worse?
January 14th, 2021 at 7:36 PM ^
No state income tax.
January 14th, 2021 at 6:59 PM ^
The saban couldn’t hack it bit is kinda old. He was in Miami for 2 years and didn’t do that poorly. He just resonates better with college age kids. Nfl isn’t for everyone. And I think urban is gonna bomb hard.
January 14th, 2021 at 9:05 PM ^
Saban was actually pretty successful for his two years in Miami, and if he had gotten a QB like Drew Brees, who knows what would have happened. Saban vs. Belichick in the AFC East would have been awesome. But he got a chance to go to the best job in college and his success since validated that decision.

The egotistic narcissist couldn't keep away for long. This should be interesting.
January 14th, 2021 at 7:20 PM ^
As purely a football mind, I have a lot of respect for Urban Meyer. That's it.
He will do well at Jacksonville if he can recruit free agents well, just like he did in Columbus. Salary restrictions may get in his way some. As others have said, how will his style work with grown men with bigger egos than the majority of his college kids, and for how long?
Michigan and the rest of the Big Ten should benefit from OSU not having him as an analyst and co-coach. And after his three to five years in the NFL, will he end up back in Ohio or on Sunday network television?
