[ED:BISB - The politics. They is everywhere. I'd like to excise the naughty bits and leave the white meat, but it's just too pervasive. Something about the combination of Congress and the Justice Department makes people asplode.]

the McGwire-Sosa homerun chase was some of the most exciting baseball I have seen in the past 30 years. I am speaking for myself, but I do not, in any way, feel cheated knowing that they may have used PEDs when they were smashing the balls out of the park. It entertained me, which is what sports is for. Personally, I do not get the people that are so personally offended, feel "robbed", that some sports figure they were following was using drugs to speed up his/her rehabilitation, build up muscle mass, etc. I enjoy sports in the moment. It is entertainment. I guess I am not as emotionally invested as some people but I just don't get how one can get so angry/sad (whatever adjective you want to use) years after the fact that some player used some performance-enhancing substance. If I find out ten years from now that Denard used delithium to make opposing safeties/linebackers/corners look like they were running an 18.4/40 it would not change the fact that I enjoyed watching him play.....just sain'...just like I enjoyed Lance taking it to the hills of southern France. He is still one hell of a cyclist, as Clemens was one hell of a pitcher, and I enjoyed watching him make batters strike out left and right.
