"Where the Wild Things Are"
in the night kitchen was better
He was great on Fresh Air with Terri Gross.
BTW, any Chicken Soup with Rice fans? I loved that book as a kid
"Where the Wild Things Are" was one of my favorite books when I was little.
Here's the interview Colbert did with him:
Colbert at his finest with a great "interview". I both laughed and cried the entire segment. Sendak's ornery demeanor and ability to smack Colbert back made it such a classic moment. RIP, Maurice. Thanks for the fantastic books.
We have to ban writing. Too many writers have died.
for the past 5 years...weird dude. But that might have been obvious from his writing. My whole town is in mourning...we're now down to just one "famous" person..Giancarlo Esposito.
I was just about to post this. This is classic.
Maurice Sendak was definitely a unique character. RIP.
Given my pic, I figured I should add that I hope he has
Sailed off through night and day,
And in and out of weeks,
And almost over a year...
