OT: Oregon to fire co-offensive coordinator following DUI arrest
Oregon is set to fire co-OC David Reaves following his arrest on DUI, reckless driving and reckless endangerment. The arrest happened Saturday night with seven recruits on campus.
Reaves was previously at USF with Willie Taggart. This leaves Mario Cristobal as the remaining OC and I don't believe Cristobal has previously had play-calling duties.
The Willie era is off to a rough start.

Have you actually done it? Do you pull a fuse or something or does the tow truck driver see a drunk and understand?

I'm sure he'll hire his old co-OC...TJ Weist. Who was at Michigan before leaving to go coach with Taggert at USF.

Between this and the S&C coach almost killing some kids, they're really in duck-and-cover mode out in Eugene these days.

You might be able to explain away a DUI somehow, but when you add reckless driving and reckless endangerment, that's more tha one bad mistake!!

at least he didnt enable child rape (Joe Pa) or campus violence and murder (Urban) in order to protect the image of himself and his football program.
Poor decisions such as irresponsible alcohol use are often just that - a poor decision -but can indeed have serious consequences if somebody gets hurt or killed. Sometimes you give somebody too long a leash when indeed they have a serious issue (Sarkisian at USC) and sometimes a guy has a shorter leash (Moeller) whether its deserved or not.
Always tough to decide how to handle these situations, as the coach needs to set an example for the players, but he himself can also not be upheld as a saint. As discussed, Harbaugh had his DUI over a decade ago and seems to have avoided alcohol issues since.

Oregon seems to keep sliding downhill with reckless abandon.
