OT: Olympic Men's Soccer Final - Brazil vs. Germany (on now NBCSN)

Submitted by Wolverine In Iowa on

Brazil will try to capture the only major championship they have not won, and to make up for the biggest ass-kicking in World Cup history (losing 7-1 in 2014 to Germany in semi's).

Neymar leads a peaking Brazil squad against stalwart 'Schland.

Already on this, but a good reminder for the board, so thanks for posting it.

My 72 year old German mother is probably wearing her jersey and sitting in front of the television at the moment. I am sure that my dad is looking a little put out honestly - he has been since Great Britain was destroyed in rugby.

A Brazilian win does not redeem the WC. The idea that it does is ridiculous. The teams are not the same and does the the tournament mean as much. That said, it will make Brazilian feel a bit better about their national team.

The diving and writhing and flailing around in utter agony from minor contact makes this sport a WWE level insult to my intelligence. Will it ever stop or is it just inherent to the sport?

I have to bet you didn't play too much soccer growing up, but what seems to be little contact, with cleats actually hurts like hell. Any time the guys are getting hit, it can be incredibly painful. Do they exaggerate, sure, but any time you get hit in the shins or feet, it can be very painful.

but I've been googling for like 30 minutes, does anyone know who all the overage players are for each side, besides Neymar and the Benders?

This totally ending in a riot outside Maracanã. I went to a friendly between flamango and the Portugal national and there was a riot outside because they ran out of tickets.
