OT: Olbermann on Hope Solo's Double Standard
I think sports organizations should stay out of legal matters letting the court of law decide unless it's like Hernandez level of bad...
However...
At least be consistent if you are going to react to social media and public opinion on these kinds of things...which also brings us to the initial problem... when is social media/public opinion EVER consistent about "outrage?"
Meh...
sports networks devolving into TMZ-style bullshit is a travesty. But I'd say the horrible shit that is sports media isn't unique to sports. All of news media sucks these days.
Ridiculous. This isn't "domestic violence" in the sense of a man battering a woman. She was in a physical altercation with her sister and nephew - who happens to be 17 and 6'9 280. And she's been cleared.
She was beating up the 17 year old, the hoss stopped it. Then she said she'd beat up the cops, to the cops.
Been involved in other domestic disputes as well. She is a not a good person.
You forgot the 6'9 280 part.
She's acted like an ass. But domestic violence in the battered partner sense? No way.
The fact of the matter is that violence from women just isn't takent as seriously. If Tim Howard was smashing his nephews face into the pavement, people would be up in arms. This is how people generally view domestic violence from women:
You also forgot the part where Solo is married to a violent professional athlete. Ever think that the nephew worried that there might be an appointment with Solo's husband if he fought back?
You also forgot the part where just because someone is bigger does not mean that they're inclined to fight. Maybe the kid is a milquetoast. Maybe he's mature enough to know that fighting is stupid.
You also forgot the part where there would have been no upside for the nephew beating her down, since it would almost certainly have been depicted as him assaulting her (another vexing double-standard).
You also forgot the part where Solo was belligerent with the cops, and told them that she would beat their asses but for the cuffs.
You're pretty forgetful.
Let's just overlook the supposed history of verbal abuse, and not call it domestic violence because she is his aunt and doesn't live domestically with them, would you not say she should be brought up on aggravated assault charges?
(Note: I am not commenting from what the law determines as domestic or not - just following Cold War's argument logic.)
Only if internet outrage could become a renewable power source.
Racism exists, sexism exists, and the best way to get out of any responsibility for your actions is to be rich or be a very important cog in making others rich.
The officer should have uncuffed her and beat her ass.

She sounds like fun.
I'm stunned Canadian Border Services let her across and gave her a Visa. She has enough history that she could easily be denied entry without it being an issue
While she seems like a terrible human being, I mean what aunt pounds their nephews head into the ground? Have you guys seen the pics of her 'vag'? Google them at your own risk.
