OT: Michigan Fitted Hat (jumpman)
I need some help here.
My 8 year old son's favorite hat which happens to be the Harbaugh Jumpman Michigan fitted hat was destroyed by a dog we were babysitting last week.
He is completely devestated. I told him I would buy him a new one exactly like it; however in searching for it, it seems like it is out of stock EVERYWHERE. Does anyone have a clue where I can get one just like the one he had before? His head size is 6 7/8

I wear a 7 and the s/m fits me perfectly. If it's the dri-fit it has some elasticity so it will be good but on the loose end of good for 6 7/8

I'm down on New Era hats. I like to buy fitted hats, but the heavy wool hats are too hot so I go for the lighter weight, typically "flex fit" designs that are a little stretchy. But I have two relatively newer New Era 39Thirty hats where the sweatband has wrinkled/puckered. This makes for a lot of discomfort when the wrinkles dig into my forehead. Maybe the 59Fifty models don't have the same problem because they don't stretch.
I wrote to their customer service but they said they have no warranty unless you buy it online. If purchased at a store you must return it there. Even if I had the receipts, they are like 1.5 yrs old so I'm sure the stores would refuse to replace or refund. They'd tell me to go back to the manufacturer.
I like the Nike flex fit lightweight hats. I have a few that are holding up well after 4-5 yrs. I had noticed that MDen is sparse on hats right now. Here's one for you:

The 59FIFTY hasn’t been wool since 2006. If I’m not mistaken, New Era switched to polyester for the 2007 MLB season.

I think there was time after MLB switched that their NCAA hats were still wool. But I think they’re all polyester now.

I would call the M Den and ask them when they'll be getting a new shipment. They'll have to stock them no later than August before the 2023 football season. I know this time frame is not what your son and you want, but I too looked at all of the various vendors and saw nothing pretty much in any size.

Hijack subquestion: Is there some kind of Harbaugh/Jordan contractual agreement that no one puts the thin M on a low-crown/adjustable hat? I have the Jordan dri-fit version, but the huge crown makes me feel like a doofus. Just someone who hates the fat M, and still wants an old, adjustable, lower-crown M hat.

A college buddy who is 3rd or 4th generation Michigan told me that the fitted hats are what all of the cool kids do. I've bought 5 or 6 fitted Michigan hats over the years. None of them fit me. I have other fitted hats and I've never had a problem. I guess I'm not a cool kid.

I had this same problem right after we won our first championship (2022). Everyone said it was due to Covid and high demand after the big win but there is clearly another supply issue going on IMO.

GAMEDAY Detroit at Great Lakes Xing Auburn Hills has a flex fit version for $26. Same exact M and jumpman. Sticker says Classic 99 if you look it up.
