Free seats in right center with the dart bar across the street. I'd love to be a lansing bluejays fan for a season. Vlad jr. Yes please !
As a Lansing resident, that's a big "no thanks" from me
This would be cool
I have a gut feeling that the Toronto Blue Jay's will permanently relocate.
My gut is always wrong though
Hartford put an offer in as well, their stadium was named best AA ballpark in 2017 n 2018
They're owned by Canadian media conglomerate Rogers who also owns the stadium they play in, Rogers Centre, and have a 10% stake in the TV network that broadcasts their games across all of Canada. They're not relocating
Why would they leave a country of 37 million where they are the only MLB franchise? This situation will probably be resolved a year from now.
Seems like the last place a baseball player would want to live (even temporarily), but I guess it might keep them more focused on baseball.
Not ideal, but the schedule is so packed for them for next two months it doesn't really matter. Very few off days and they really should basically just be chilling at home when not at stadium per protocols. I could see them just playing all road games anyways...it's not like flying in and out of a random town for homes games, staying at a hotel, is really gonna feel any different than being on road.
i read the players balked at buffalo, because of the amenities there. i can't believe they can't easily find a good AAA stadium. they are all available, right?
I'm sure they can, but apparently the players themselves would prefer to play in a major league ballpark.
Obviously, if they can't find one that works, they are going to have to widen their search.
I'm pretty sure Buffalo is 100% confirmed as their home ballpark this year.
A lot of the AAA stadiums are not available because (as the Tigers are doing in Toledo) many of the MLB teams have them in use for their players (other than the 30 active players) to practice and hold intersquad games.
Without researching it further, I have no idea how many AAA stadiums are not in use, but it wouldn't surprise me if some other AAA stadiums have facility issues too, besides Buffalo.
In the end, the Blue Jay's organization may just have to suck it up, quickly fix as many problems as possible, and play in Buffalo.
This surely must be tongue in cheek by the Lugnuts and a clever way to get their name out there. If the Blue Jays had a problem with Buffalo's stadium and the amenities of that park (the largest minor league park), then this obviously would never happen
Toronto vs Lansing
hmm *strokes chin*
Maybe Gov Whitmer has something to say about it...
How about the Toledo Mudhens stadium?
Not available, as that's where the Tigers have the remainder of their 60-man squad training.
Watch parties and drink specials at Harper's every game!
That would be pretty cool- that's a nice little stadium, it's right downtown, there are some cool restaurants around there too. Maybe the Jays could play MSU baseball like the Lugnuts do, I'd even go watch that with a mask on.
YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO WATCH LIVE SPORTS. EVER!
Sorry if it wasn't apparent- the subtext there was that it would be really fun to see the 'Jays pants MSU baseball.
You would have to be a cardboard cutout to take advantage of free right centerfield seats.
Obligatory "Take off, eh".
ESPN says they're going to Buffalo.

Wasn't the Buffalo stadium the stand-in for both the NY Knights stadium (The Natural) and Major League (Faux Cleveland Municipal)?
Milwaukee County Stadium was the stand-in for Major League I.
Camden Yards for Major League II.
I don't remember for the Natural, but I would assume it would have been a stadium with an upper deck.
