Joe Milton in for Tennessee (Hooker injured)
He's playing reasonably well, though he overthrew a wide open WR in the end zone...

Just like Corum, he felt the pain and dropped the ball during the play. SC scooped and scored but they blew the play dead. Hope Hooker is ok but he had a noticeable limp coming out of the tent.

At least he saw the wide open WR in the Endzone.

I like Joe but his game hasn't changed much since he left AA
November 19th, 2022 at 10:50 PM ^
He’s still throwing to tacopants
November 19th, 2022 at 10:51 PM ^
Heisman is a two man race - Stroud and Corum. Let’s hope for good health and bad weather.
November 19th, 2022 at 10:56 PM ^
Williams is right there if they win tonight
November 19th, 2022 at 11:21 PM ^
Currently there's 8 minutes left and Williams has 425 passing, 2TD and 1 TD rushing.
And while I'm not a big DTR guy, he's put in a gritty performance tonight.
November 20th, 2022 at 2:44 AM ^
I love Corum but it’s going to take a massive game against OSU for him to win. Agree it’s either Williams or Stroud at this point. Heisman has become a qb award.
November 20th, 2022 at 10:07 AM ^
It's really more of a "best skill player on leading national title contender" award. In recent years, though, that's generally been the quarterback.
But not always. Look at the non-QB winners in the last couple of decades: Devonta Smith, Derrick Henry and Mark Ingram II. They all played for Alabama teams which won either the playoffs or the BCS championship.
I think it's possible to win the Heisman as a non-QB on a team that isn't contending for the national title, but you have to have absolutely monster stats and get lucky with your competition. Larry Fitzgerald had the stats but still came in second to Jason White in 2003 (even though Oklahoma lost in the Big 12 championship game). If Fitzgerald had stayed past his sophomore year and had similar stats I think he could have beaten out Leinart in 2004--but it would have been close.

Milton still completing <50% of his passes. Nothing has changed… since high school
November 20th, 2022 at 2:21 AM ^
Only one year where he had more than 32 completions though. Garbage time doesn't count.
Also, uhh...are you defending Milton??? Still????
November 20th, 2022 at 4:44 AM ^
Technically not quite true is right; he ended up 4-8 yesterday.
November 19th, 2022 at 10:53 PM ^
He finally connected on a TD pass but WOOF the 3-4 before that were B.A.D.
November 19th, 2022 at 11:09 PM ^
Milton reminds me of this guy

Greg in The White Lotus is Uncle Rico. You're welcome.

4/8 108 yards and a td.
Started off 2/2,
followed by a drop by a wide open receiver.
Two long misses
gorgeous deep dime while rolling left.
absolute dime in the back corner of the end zone for his TD.
season stats:
23/33 (69.7%) 573 yds 6 tds 0 ints. QBR is 298.2 this year which is up from 113.1 last year and 124.6 in 2020.
He looks very good this season. His biggest improvement has been on his deep ball accuracy. 24.9 ypc and 17.4 ypa bear that out.

WTH I’m up at 0200. I just looked this up. Before last night(out of necessity) what appearances in meaningful games has Joe had???
wk 1 Vols 59 BallzTaint 10
JM 8/9 for 113 and TD
fun fact Ballz D is in the bottom half of MAC just ahead of BGSU, Akron, Kent St & OhioU
wk 2 Vols 34 Pitt 27 OT
JM DNP
WK 3 Vols 63 Akron 6
JM 4/5 112 2 TD against that Vaunted Zips D
wk 4 Vols beat FL
JM DNP
wk 5 Bye
wk 6 Vols 40 LSU 13
JM DNP
wk 7 Vols 52 Bama 49
JM 0/1
wk 8 Vols 65 Tennessee Martin 24
JM 4/5 135 1TD
wk 9 Vols 44 UK 6
JM DNP
wk 10 Vols 13 UGA 27
JM DNP
wk 11 Vols 66 Mizzou 24
JM 3/3 105 1TD
So in game action where the opponent was not clearly overmatched and throttled into submission, Joe Milton is a HUGE, get ready for this stat, ZERO for ONE prior to the garbage time last night. He should be in the Heisman race with that QBR ypa ypc thx zcu jla

Ballztaint?? Fucking embarassing
November 19th, 2022 at 11:37 PM ^
He’s improved on the field. The most impressive thing about Joe is his leadership. He lost his job last year. He didn’t sulk. He didn’t transfer. He became the leader of the locker room. He and Hooker are roommates and best friends. It kind of reminds me of the Devin and Denard dynamic.
This is what a team first leader looks like.

There sure are a lot of pretty girls in CA. Welcome to the BIG USC and hopefully UCLA.
November 20th, 2022 at 1:12 AM ^
While we are at it, can we add FSU?

Butter faces. None of those girls are even half as hot as my sister.

there's a craig james joke in here somewhere but i'm not in the joke mood after re-watching this game this morning

There was a lot of Tennessee hopium on Twitter last week, but he's still the same player he was. Can he throw a rocket at a wide open receiver? Absolutely. Can he put any touch on a pass, go through his progressions, or read a defense? Absolutely not
November 20th, 2022 at 3:14 PM ^
Regardless of the competition, have we seen a QB on our roster complete even one of these passes this year?
Stevie Wonder can see the touch. Don't read the comments on the video
3/3 for 105 against a top 20 defense.
He read through his progressions last night. That's that was a big thing that I noticed on an overthrow. The inside receiver looked open, the safety came down after disguising and he moved on to the boundary receiver when the safety bit on the inside receiver.
UT fans have been encouraged by his improvement.

And then you have the michigan crew
https://www.reddit.com/r/MichiganWolverines/comments/yzu0p1/joe_milton_in_for_tennessee/
The man graduated from The University of Michigan in three years. Lost his starting job twice. Improved his game and became an unquestioned leader. You all still hate. Something makes me wonder if this has anything to do with him as an actual football player...
November 20th, 2022 at 11:55 AM ^
All he has left is Vandy to play. I doubt Vandy can hang with this team - even though they have a 2-game winning streak.
The overthrow to a guy open by the sideline in the EZ was flashback to his UM career - though wish him well. He didn't pull a Gattus on his way out.

I hope Milton has a *great* rest of the season.
Also, he threw an impressively accurate bomb TD in the South Carolina game. I hope that he gets to do more of that.
Milton is a Wolverine graduate. I wish him success and happiness.
