OT: The Guy Who Busted Urban Meyer

I know, people are tired of the Urban Meyer story. But the story of the guy largely responsible for outing him with the two videos is actually pretty interesting. Here is the full story:

The guy is a big OSU fan, and he actually used to write for Elevenwarriors at one point, but was not a fan of Urban. He turned on Meyer after the Zack Smith story and the university response. He got the first video and posted it under a burner Twitter account. Someone then sent him the second, more obvious "hoo-ha touching" video and posted that too (after thinking, "there were two shooters in the club that night???").

Also, he ran for the state house of representatives in Ohio, and apparently robbed some drug dealers in Montana. Fascinating guy. He lives in Columbus, and my guess is that he is going to receive some "strongly worded" emails from the OSU faithful after being revealed in this story...

Lets be honest that video doesnt get released if he is still on the OSU payroll. Its a nice little cushion to own the instate media while your rival has a media WANTING to burn them down.

The said part is that as you say he will get brief from the Buckeye fanbase....that tells you all you need to know about those people.

He's a scumbag and got busted....the finger only points in one direction here....Urban.

Ohio State fan here, full disclaimer.

DJ Byrnes is a very talented writer.  His Skull Sessions on 11W were hilarious.  He was pseudo black balled by a lot of the Ohio State beat writers for turning on Urban in 2018.  A lot of guys agreed with him but were afraid to publicly switch sides until Urban fully left the program.  He has also been very open about his own transgressions.  His politics also led a lot of OSU fans to turn on him.  I'm pretty sure he identifies as a communist, not just a socialist.

Harbaugh was exactly right about Urban.  He is very talented, he won everywhere he went in college, but controversy has followed him everywhere.  He upgraded our recruiting to a national level.  A Tressel led team was not beating Alabama or Clemson of the last 5 years.  At the same time, I sincerely believe Tressel cared about his players deeply and wanted them to become better people. Urban wanted to help "troubled" guys only to the extent they could help him win football games.

I have no idea why Urban went to the NFL. He doesn't need the money. If he lasts, he'll lose more games in a season than he did in 7 years at Ohio State. The fire is gone too - there is zero chance he would be at a bar the day after losing four in a row circa 2014.
