O.T: G.O.A.T TV Series
Hi everyone. The GOAT series part 3 was not as interesting, so I have decide to go back to film. This time TV shows for part 4. I have a feeling I’m going to show my age and weirdness here.
I’m going to set the criteria as follows; 1. You can escape from your life by watching. 2. You wish it could be real and you could be in it. 3. It is no longer running. 4. It had at least 3 seasons. 5. No cartoons. We will do top 5 and man was that hard. I could have easily done top 15. A lot of what people will say would have been in my top 15, but I’m old school so.....
Here is my top 5
1. Married With Children
2. Sanford and Son
3. Friday Night Lights
4. Happy Days
5. Saved by the Bell
Anyone agree with me? What is your top 5? Remember, follow the criteria if possible.
Not sure why you like trolling me, but whatever man. I forgive you for being an idiot, but kinda surprised the mods do.
1. Justified
2. The Office
3. JAG
4. Parks and Rec
5. GOT (Don't care if its not finished that show is fantastic and thats coming fron someone that usually hates mystical wizards and dragons crap)
Forgot Ray Donovan after reading the other comments. Mickey Donovan is a top 5 character all time don't @ me.
British version:
Monty Python
Mighty Boosh
IT Crowd
In-betweeners
Peep Show
Love the IT Crowd
maybe add Benny Hill to Brit list, but thats just me
Breaking Bad
Entourage
The Office
Parks & Rec
Shameless
1) The Middle
2) Married With Children
3) Cheers
4) Hill Street Blues
5) White Shadow
top 10
Malcolm In The Middle,Seinfeld,M*A*S*H,The Rookies,Starsky and Hutch
but i could make a decent top 25 easily
Seinfeld will probably always be number 1 for me.
True Detective (season 1) was fantastic.
Then probably some order of Entourage, The Office, Parks and Rec, The King of Queens, HIMYM, and Home Improvement to round out my Top 10.
Home Improvement is a great choice. Always made me wish I had sons.
1. Deadwood
2. The Wire
3. The Sopranos
4. Curb
5. The Office
In no particular order:
cosby show (don’t come at me with what he turned out to be...the series is an all time great)
West Wing
Lost
Friends
law & order
CSI
1. Mission Impossible
2. Monty Python
3. M*A*S*H
4. Hill Street Blues
5. Wipeout
Not much T.V. in later years, but loved watching Wipeout with the youngsters.
Hard time putting these in order, but my top 5 anyway (Going to keep away from cartoons, which is hard to):
Seinfeld
How I Met Your Mother
The West Wing
Stranger Things
Home Improvement
Family Guy (Sorry, didn't make it far without a cartoon)
Boy Meets World
Game of Thrones
Breaking Bad
American Crime Story: Assassination of Gianni Versace - Darren Criss, who played Andrew Cunanan, was UNBELIEVABLE. He deserves an Emmy for his work. The rest of the show was okay but he was phenomenal.
Simpsons (before mid-2000’s, the episodes since then have been awful)
Kenan and Kel - my guilty pleasure
Big Bang Theory - Kaley Cuoco goes through the motions but the rest of the cast is amazing.
Totally forgot about South Park and Family Guy.
1. The A-Team
2. Knight Rider
3. Night Court
4. B. J. and the Bear
5. Welcome Back Kotter
Holy shit! You're 12-yr-old me!
Breaking Bad.
One of the most enthralling pieces of entertainment in the history of mankind.
Also, Manimal.
Breaking Bad.

I'm pretty surprised no one has said 'Lost'
1. LOST
2. The Wire
3. Mad Men
4. Black Mirror
5. Breaking Bad
Honorable mention:
South Park, The Simpsons, Star Trek, Parks & Rec, The Office, Arrested Development, Big Love, 24, etc...
Forgot about lost. In top 3.
Lostipedia was a game changer.
I said Lost, but since there is now no semblance of order to the comment section...but the last season knocked it down from potentially #1 to all the way down to an iffy #5 for me
Breaking Bad for me.
West Wing
Sopranos
Mary Tyler Moore
Friends
Saturday Night Live
Gillian’s island - I like my chances.
Baywatch - not great odds but still worth it
Arrested development
Battlestar galactica
Dynasty.
Just started arrested development from beginning. Gawd ive been missing out the past 15 years.
1. Breaking Bad
2. The Wire
3. Rome
4. Deadwood/Justified
5. The Killing
(6. Cartoon: Thundar the Barbarian)
I got so upset with the killing. Binged it, but got upset.
Then I had an epiphany about gov/politics; all is corrupt, and everybody knows.
1. Breaking Bad
2. The Handmaid's Tale
3. Game of Thrones
4. True Detective (season 1)
5. Sons of Anarchy
1. The Americans
2. Wings
3. Hill Street Blues
4. Tour of Duty
5. Quantum Leap
1. The Russians
-fixed it for you
Quantum Leap was awesome!
Magnum P.I. and MacGyver
Quantum Leap should be on this list.
Otherwise, MASH, Wild,Wild West, Hogan's Heroes and Captain Kangaroo all have a place on my list of favs.
I would have said Underdog and the Jetsons , but will abide by the no cartoon rule.
Damn you and your 'minimum 3 years' rule
- The Newsroom
- Justified
- West Wing
- Boston Legal
- Deadwood
Lose that rule and Firefly and Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip are probably numbers 2 and 3. (Yes, I like Aaron Sorkin. Leave me alone. All four of his would be in my top 10)
Studio 60 had so much potential. Very underrated!
No order:
- Breaking Bad
- Peaky Blinders
- The Wire
- The Oiffice
- Always Sunny in Philadelphia
- The Sopranos
- Sons of Anarchy
- Archer
- Game of Thrones
- Dexter
1. The West Wing
2. The Office
3. Boy Meets World
4. Friends
5. Friday Night Lights
- Sanford and Son
- Cheers
- Seinfeld
- Friends
- Brady Bunch and Gilligan's Island tie
Great lists but from an older guy
Combat, Rat Patrol, 12 O'Clock High, McHale's Navy, Garrison's Guerillas
Rockford Files, Magnum PI, Get Smart, McCloud, Simon and Simon, Mannix
Quantum Leap, Cheers, Night Court, I'm Dickens, He's Fenster
Guns of Will Sonnet, Gunsmoke, Bonanza
Rat Patrol was awesome. Remember watching that on channel 20 on weekends as a kid.
The Sopranos.
THE END.
