Everett Golson didn't make the trip to #FSU's bowl game. Source says he's coping with the death of a very close family member.

I could not care less about posting information before someone else. I don't even think I can create a new topic to be honest. I, along with plenty others, called him out for his immature original post. I find him obnoxious and finally said something. But yeah, thanks for the "info" WD.

Yeah. Sometimes this OP's maize colored glasses are so maize, especially when it comes to Michigan's rivals, that she/he loses all rational thought. (See made up assumption/story about a former ND QB) And I really don't get the rival hate in general. I dislike losing to ND, MSU and OSU due to the importance and historical significance of those games, but people are people, and fans are fans, and I've met just as many terrible Michigan fans as I have terrible rival fans. It's funny that we justify hating a rival fanbase by painting them with a broad brush - MSU fans are mouth breathers, etc, etc. - when their fan base as a whole is not significantly different than our own.

But I think the folks that were high school age and a bit younger when the end of the Carr era started tend to be just more vitrolic than those who came of age before that. I see a similar issue with folks from our side who came of age during the Cooper years. I know the ND record is more balanced, though it ended on a high note for the Irish. That and the uneven nature of the recent record against OSU and MSU seems to make them more prone to radicalization. And in ND they see a reflection of dark shades of what they may still be. A long and storied past and a historically impressive record that has been wanting for much of this century. A series of coaches and promises of a return to glory that have not yet been fulfilled. As I said, the Cooper folks from our side tend to be the most likely to celebrate App State, the more likely to think Harbaugh is head to the Colts or the Bears or anywhere else because they hate the concept of any success for Michigan. Again, broad brush and I am sure folks know exceptions to this, just a thought based on what I have seen.

Yeah, he made a mistake and got caught cheating. He could have taken the easy way out and transferred right then. Instead he faced his punishment like a man and returned to the scene of his very public embarrassment. He then not only earned the starting job back, but he got his degree. Cheating on a test earned Golson a one year suspension. DUIs get a 1 game suspension around here, you go ahead and decide which one is worse.

If I edit it and put a note, people bitch and make their usual personal shots. If I don't edit and put a note, people bitch and make their personal shots. I don't care anymore. Get worked up over a message board mistake. It's not like the BryMac tweet below wasn't posted at the same time of this thread where the news just broke that he'd be out.

You don't care anymore? Dude there are rules on this here blog, no matter how many meaningless points you have. Don't give me that "you're the new guy so I don't have to listen" act, been reading for 6 years, and you have got increasingly douches and arrogant. You are like Will Hunting, you can't tell us anything we can't read in a book. Go experience life and put yourself out of your comfort zone.

If you had edited and left a note properly explaining your edit/taking responsibility for implying wrongdoing on Golson's part, I might even be defending you and your action of adding the 2nd tweet to your opening post.  Sure, you'd have some detractors either way, but far fewer in this particular thread.  You may have noticed that I was the first to downvote your OP, but I left it without comment on purpose----until now, after seeing that you're essentially wrongly trying to shift the blame and claiming to be picked on/persecuted.

Better to admit your mistake and learn from it.

For the life of me I can't understand why the coach doesn't say "he has a death in the family and won't play in the game."  "Personal issue" spurs unnecessary speculation.  cc: Brady Hoke.
