Everett Golson didn't make the trip to #FSU's bowl game. Source says he's coping with the death of a very close family member.

They could say "personal issues", and that he leaves on good terms.

Let's not be naive, the term "perosnal issues" has been blatantly misused over the years.  And because of that, it's going to be associated with the kid doing something wrong.

So make it clear that the kid did nothing wrong while still keeping it private.  Kid's got enough problems without his name being dragged through the mud unnecessarily.

The Orlando Sentinel has a story in progress of sorts here - LINK

According to them, it was Fisher that let the information about a death in the family fly -

Golson was not at the last practice FSU had open to media in Tallahassee on Dec. 18. Fisher said Golson was not at that practice because a family member passed away. On Saturday, a spokesperson for FSU clarified that Golson would not return to the team because of a “personal issue.”

but i 'know', in terms of having played more football than most folks on this board and being long in the tooth i can tell you that nothing would keep me from playing short of nuclear strike, active tornado or physical inability.   something extremely important has happened, and probably it was bad.  like i said, i wish the kid well.  heck, he had to play for purple face and escaped.

EDIT: reply to section 6. why it set up here is a mystery.   thanks drupal.

He has been missing practice dealing with family issues. Not sure what else you're hoping to find....but you won't find it. Maguire has been the guy for over a month and would have started regardless of whether or not Golson had a death in the family.

In other news, two more "Crystal Balls" given today for Michigan in regards to Dylan Crawford. Both were from National Recruiting guys. Can't remember when he is scheduled to commit. Hope to bring him into the fold.

First off, if it is a family/personal issue and not a school/performance/behavior issue, then all the best to him and his family.  Secondly, I wonder how much the line moves with this news?

Some losses are bigger than others and everyone grieves differently, but missing a week seems like a long time between the passing and the game to miss such an important moment in his playing career. Hope I'm wrong, but this seems strange, especially given what someone above said was a different story by Fisher versus that of the university.
