I'm not so sure. His career numbers include 8.7 points per game, 6.9 rebounds per game, and 5.6 assists per game. That's not very impressive.

There are a few HOF players with fewer PPG than Green, but the only two in the relatively modern era (Ben Wallace and Dennis Rodman) were both rebounding champs. In other words, they were GREAT rebounders. Green isn't great at anything...except taking cheap shots at other NBA players.

Ben Wallace is in the HOF with 5.7 points per game, 9.6 rebounds per game, and 1.3 assists per game.  Thank you for proving my point for me.

Draymond is a 1-time DPOY, and 2-time DPOY runner-up.  4-time all-star.  2-time all-NBA.  8-time all-defensive team.  One of the greatest defenders of all time.  4 championships (you can argue his contribution to them all you want, but he has the rings).  Key member of one of the greatest dynasties the sport has ever seen.

I think he's a complete dirty piece of shit and a moron.  The only way you can possibly argue he won't be in the HOF is that somehow voters will take into account his dirtiness and leave him off the ballot somehow.  I doubt that will happen.

>Green isn't great at anything.

This is just dumb.  Saying an 8-time all-defensive team player isn't great at defense is an awful take.

I don't think the NBA values defense in this era. It's all about the points, shooting percentages, etc. A defensive monster in the 1980s or 1990s meant something. Or when a guy is a great offensive player and also all-defense. But 8.7 points per game in an era of wide-open offense isn't going to match up with some of the monster numbers other guys are putting up, in my opinion.

We'll see in a few years.

Good.  It's taken way too long for his schtick to run out.

It's going to be interesting to see how people from GSW talk about him once he's off the team permanently (either via retirement or trade) because I have to assume he's a handful to deal with and a pretty big asshole.

Also, I'm not a huge fan of Poole's game in the NBA but I have newfound respect for him calling Draymond an expensive backpack and apparently that being the inciting incident for Draymond's sucker punch last year.

For the record, I was born and grew up in Saginaw. Got out for college. Went back for 5 years, got out and never looked back. I still have family there. For anyone who has never lived there you wouldn't understand. I have travelled to many places in this world and this country. Saginaw is a different place, with a backwards culture. If you don't like what I said, screw yourself.

I do actually. It's my hometown. I can't escape it. But as an insider, if anyone has a problem with me putting it down I honestly don't give a shit. And I meant my original comment sincerely. Saginaw goes a long way towards explaining why Draymond acts that way. If you or anyone disagrees, go live there for 20+ years and come back to me then.

Saw Wallace back during his Pistons stint parked outside the Domino's on the NE corner of Long Lake & Telegraph (a Hungry Howie's the last time I checked). Ginormous tripped-out Escalade. He sent one of his young sons inside to get the pizzas while he smoked a J. ID was confirmed as I backed out & noted the vanity plate (RASHEED1 or something similar).

Love Rasheed. Those Pistons, like the Bad Boys, should have also won back-to-back titles (and the Bad Boys should have won 3 straight!).

Green was arrested for fighting with an MSU football player outside of a college bar (at the age of 27) and said some not-great things to him.  He also has gotten into it with teammates in non-game situations, as he did with Durant and then punching Jordan Poole.  Those aren't all heat-of-the-moment basketball actions; those are actions by a guy who's indiscriminate about trying to hurt people he doesn't like.  Rasheed Wallace was, by all accounts, a great teammate and people liked playing with him.  He also never kicked multiple opponents in the groin or stomped on guys when they were on the ground.

Green also apparently (and I didn't know this until I was reading about his missteps) flashed his junk on Snapchat years ago as well - that's more funny than anything else but I thought it a fitting coda for the guy who swings at junk.

Green is just an asshole who got lucky to be drafted by a great team and found a good spot for him.  He's a great defender and a pretty good passer but he's gotten away with a lot of bad behavior because the guys around him were great.

The best comparison to Green is likely Rasheed Wallace

Eh, not sure.  Sheed was a hothead when it came to the officials and argued with them constantly (and received record numbers of technicals) but I don't remember him playing dirty like Green does.

I think Dennis Rodman is a closer comparison, but Green takes it further than he did.

Like I said, I don't like Poole's game in the NBA and totally get him not being on GSW.  He's been a wreck in Washington, and if the Pistons weren't such absolute trash they'd be the poster child for terrible roster construction and a bleak future.  But I also suspect part of the reason GSW chose Green over him was because this particular group of players have a small window to try to win a title and Green gave them a better shot at it.

"I didn't intend to hit him," Green said after the game, via ESPN. "I sell calls with my arms ... so I was selling the call ... and I swung and unfortunately I hit him."

This is why I detest this piece of crap. What a ridiculous statement. You turned completely around with your arm swinging in a wildly agressive punching motion, but you didn't mean to hit him?

You deserve everything you get.
