OT: Dametrius "Meechie" Walker Story

Submitted by LabattsBleu on September 24th, 2022 at 4:12 PM

I missed this story on college gameday, but had to seek it out again after seeing Meech introduced to the crowd... I did see the story that Michigan Football did earlier in the summer though.

Really heartbreaking story - but hoping that some medical miracle can help him. For those interested, or who missed the story like I did, I've included links below.

F Cancer. Keep fighting Big Meech!

Definitely want Sparty to lose, but I hate the fake slide by a QB. It's really not fair for the defense and a pretty cheap move by QBs to take advantage of a rule designed to protect them.

Oops. Meant to post in the afternoon games thread.

Fuck cancer and pulling for Big Meech!

I have had pleasure of knowing this young man, he has the best smile of any person I’ve ever met.  Sometimes you just have to wonder why?  He was a great football player and is a great human being, hoping Michigan medicine can find a miraculous cure for Meechie.  To see him on the field today is one of the most rewarding things I’ve seen in my life, he loves the wolverines.

If I ever run into coach Harbaugh again, or if any of you do thank him from the Big Reds of Muskegon.

I rarely cry, yesterday I was in tears. Love this kid and pray for all the extra time in the world for him. Should be right up front for every Michigan game he feels well enough to attend.
