OT: Best mobile/phone games these days?
I’m sitting here in the hospital with my 1-day-old daughter napping in my lap and realized the games on my iPhone suck. Does anyone have a game recommendation to help pass the time? I’ve enjoyed most of the popular ones in the past (Angry Birds, Candy Crush, etc.) for reference.
Thanks in advance.

Oh, and if you're a younger type person and like Breath of the Wild, there's a game called Genshin Impact that's all the rage, but beware of the microtransactions, and it doesn't have the depth of BotW.

Tricky Bridge is great if you ever wanted to learn how to play Bridge. Starts you at novice and takes you by the hand in an entertaining way. Definitely a 5 star app

XCom: Enemy Within is fun. It is like $15 for the game though and it takes up a lot of space on your phone.
It's a turn based strategy game so you can play/pause/save as you wish. Missions can be kind of long. There are no in-game purchases so once you buy the game, that's it. It is single player only.

If you are in to sports games, Madden, NBA2k and MLB the Show all have mobile versions that are pretty solid.
Tennis clash is extremely fun if you are a tennis fan.

Archero is my time waster. It's fun, easy to play but hard to master.
May I also suggest an app called Gratitude Journal. A great way to document fun things you've done together, and a wonderful reminder for those times when your mental state needs a boost.

I love that you can play legit gm’s on chess.com. Not that I stand a chance vs them but I like how accurate their rating system is.

Download the "My Boy!" Gameboy Advance emulator from the app store and then Google "GBA roms" and play whatever GBA game your heart desires.
Right from your smartphone.

I've been completely addicted to Baseball 9 for almost the last 3 years. Simple, yet incredibly creative and fun gameplay if you happen to be a baseball fan.

Colin Kapernick Football is awesome. There is a Michael Vick version as well. It is basically 4 on 4 football where you only play offense. You can upgrade your players or draft free agents as the season goes on and the opponents get harder.
wordleunlimited.com is fun.
Walk Master is a fun time-waster.
...and CONGRATULATIONS on being a dad!

Slay the Spire, many folks game of the year a bit ago (not mobile, just game of the year). Translates perfectly to mobile, endlessly replay-able

Maybe I'm a nerd, but I like Sudoku and the New York Times Crossword puzzles. The NYT puzzles sync across devices.

Clash of Clans and/or Clash Royale. They're both really fun, can consume a lot of time or just a few minutes. They're both free, but obviously, have the option to progress faster using $. There are many Michigan clans you can join in either game.
Cheers

Learn a language with Duolingo. It is in a rather addictive format and can be competitive. Sounds meh I know but give it an hour and you might be surprised.
