OT: Adidas passes Jordan as the #2 brand in U.S.

Thought this would interest some on here given last year's switch from adidas to Jordan....

Adidas has passed the Jordan brand as the second-most popular sneaker in the United States, market tracking company NPD Group announced Monday.

"I've never seen a brand in the sneaker industry grow this fast," NPD sports industry analyst Matt Powell said.

Are better than anything the other companies are putting out, and it's not close. I go through multiple pairs a year, and have owned any and all.

Nike shoes are very poorly constructed. Every pair I've owned rips/falls apart quickly.

Under Armour are good, but there's not much variety.

If you try out a pair of the Adidas crazy explosive low, they are honestly like walking on clouds. Boost has completely changed the game for athletic shoes.

That's opinion like any discussion like this. I firmly know most basketball players would disagree with you, including pros and collegiate athletes. I've worn all well known brands except under armour and Nike has never been an issue. The only shoes that have fallen apart were worn for years and Nike refunded the original purchase price.

I'm not going to get into the whole adidas vs. Jordan debate but those of you who say this isn't a big deal are on crack. This is a huge deal. You guys are acting like Jordan is Russell athletic, but that is not the case. The fact of the matter is that adidas is quickly becoming a more influential brand in youth and street culture. Like it or not, this is a fact. It's not a fad either. If you've been paying attention this has been coming for a while now. And if you think Nike is not concerned, talk to the thousands of people they laid off this summer

Adidas has been and will continue to upgrade there styles and quality. I've. Even spending a lot of time with the ASU football team the last couple years and have been to a few of the Adidas launch parties and product innovation days for the football team. I hate to say it but there quality of shoe and apparel is becoming second to one. The new material is amazing and comfortable.

I love Michigan and Jordan but I was back at Ann Arbor in July with my kids and I spent $700 at the MDen on Jordan gear and personally I'm not really impressed w the quality or the shirts or sweatshirts. There under sized and they are very thin.

Adidas on the other hand has came out with so many new technologies in there shoes and the way the apparel fits that they are quickly becoming very popular. Look around and yon will see more and more NFL guys wearing there shoes. There just made better.

I love Michigan but I still think we got hosed on the dollars from Jordan and the fact now that North Carolina and Cal will be using Jordan has wore off the shine in the eyes for many. And Jordan will re release the best shoes in Carolina Blue while we continue to get these shitty ones there releasing.
