This will be the thread for your quick hits and hot takes regarding the overall coaching in our game against OSU.

Our problem is not the talent level of our recruits. We have a lot of talent. It the defense that we are running and the types of recruits we are trying to get to run that defense. Don Brown has a great time with inferior talent teams, but when his defense plays a team with a huge offensive line, his defense cannot stop the run. You take the run out of Ohio Satan’s game plan and this would have been a different outcome.

You thought with the HUGE head start OSU had over us after Hoke and RR this would take only 5 years ? We have gone from a non factor in the Big 10 to a level of the rest of the non OSU universe. We have banished MSU to its former little brother status. The next step will be a BIG one. OSU has it coming and going now and we need all sorts of things to happen to get there. Just who do you think would jump in and push us up there right away? I am as frustrated as the rest of you but I have more patience.

Look how the basketball team handles adversity and compare it to the football team. It comes from the head coach.

Even with all the mistakes. It was a 15 point game with a 4th and 1. What happens? A WILDCAT signaling to everyone what would happen.

Unbelievable.

Oh and fire Don Brown.

That’s the problem.  No team/schools holds onto outdated history like Michigan does. Get your ass kicked by OSU? Well since “The Victors” and play “the team” speech yet again. Talk about those great 70s teams and the legend of Bo!  That will do it.
We are Georgia before Kirby got there, or Clemson before Dabo got it going. Descent/good but not great. Michigan hasn’t been a consistent great team for about a 100 years. Silly if anything thinks that’s what we are.
5 years ago we all thought that’s what Harbaugh was going to do, but he became an NFL coach, wasn’t ready for the different style of college, and won at Stanford because he played man ball while the rest of that league was going spread and didn’t know what to do.

Oh look, it’s the thin-skinned insider.  Funny how you never show up when things are going well.  2 things:

1). I hope they send you your money back

2). Find another team to root for.

There are indeed things to improve, and one of them is weeding out negativity like the the horse shit you always bring around.  Congrats on being rich or whatever, but just give it a rest already.  I’m sick of it.

Fuck Snowflakes. Fuck trying to organize my anger under a term "Snowflake" that I find insulting and indicative of why society is failing.

Maybe you should have a category called "OSU MgoBlog - Performance of the Platform."

Here would be the only comment you would need to allow before blocking the rest of the thread.

There was a moment in time in the past decade where Tennessee had to recognize they could no longer consider Alabama or LSU as rivals. The SEC’s front runners had passed them by.

its time for Michigan to reset its expectations and recognize they will never be a National powerhouse. Ohio State has surpassed Michigan’s frame of reference, and it’s unlikely Michigan will ever return to it.

Tradition is as irrational as a friendship that was held onto for longer than it should. The Michigan-Ohio State game is as much a rivalry as Coke vs. Pepsi used to be. It’s time for the coaches to focus on what is realistic - beating Penn State, Notre Dame, Michigan State, and perhaps luckily catching Ohio State on a bad day every 20 years or so, kinda like how Illinois does to Michigan.

Fuck your complacency Noid.

You might be responsible for Domino's downfall, but many of us refuse to believe Michigan has to accept mediocrity forever. Some of us attended Michigan in the 80's and 90's before Mary Sue Coleman tanked the program through bad hires who supported bad hires.

It's about the administration. We need a re-haul.

Funny. I thought I remembered watching Michigan win twice when I was a student. And even the games they lost were a hell of a lot more competitive than this.

but then again, the CRISP lady still existed when I was a student.

Time to face reality. Michigan’s no longer the member of the Big Two part of the Big Ten. And the sooner we accept that, the more we can focus our energies on other things.

You call it complacency. I call it reality.

Minnesota hired Fleck. He's making $3.6 million. He's on the verge of making the B10 Championship game before we ever have.

Harbaugh makes $7.5 million. Ryan Day makes $4.5 million.

Michigan has not made the right hires in Football. And we have paid the price. It started with Lloyd, continued with RR, Hoke and now Harbaugh. It's not whether most of us agreed with the Harbaugh hire or not. There were signs with his hire too. Former players like Jacobs, Sherman and Boone said he had lost his mind. And he was forced out in SF. There were signs.

Time for Harbaugh to go. He doesn't deserve to stay. The kicker (Nordin) he bent over backwards for -- spending an overnight with -- missed the first XP and it all went downhill afterwards. And we all kind of cringed when he missed it. Nordin is a head case. Perhaps Harbaugh is a head case. Head cases don't produce good results over the long term. Sorry, but it's true.

I'm not sold on the so-called talent gap.

I see BEASTS out thereon the field for Michigan. Even Metellus--but how is he left on an island to cover Olave or any of those receivers. And how can they get the ball to their receivers and we can't?

Haskins missed  a HUGE hole on that 4th down wildcat in the 4th quarter--that seems to me, along with the other mistakes, to be the issue here.

I think it goes back to The Punt vs MSU--the Aussie flubdub trying to run-punt drops it and then is not apparently coached just to fall on the ball. A little mistake that cost the game that came at the BIGGEST moment of that game. Symptoms of Michigan football under Harbaugh.

And talk about 2016 OSU--hey, this year ARMY barely misses a field goal from 50 to win--to WIN a game AT MICHIGAN. Symptoms of UM football under Harbaugh.

Fumbles and bumbles sum up the first half of the season. Wisconsin cleans our clocks. We come back and look decent against Penn State, drop the potential game tying TD (I have no doubt the extra point would have been missed if that TD catch was made)--symptoms of UM football under Harbaugh.

Mistake after mistake. I understand none of how Michigan shows up the last decade against OSU and shits the bed, time after time. It is as if they have ZERO CHANCE.

These little things are ARE COACHING. This is on Harbaugh and his Excuse Army can just shut up after this one.

This is the best post on here. I don't know how you do this but you're right Michigan just isn't at these levels they don't get these kind of players. College football now is so top-heavy with the top five or six programs at levels that the Wolverines have never been at even in there the championship season. These teams totally dominate. It's like these schools have maximized their football programs

Exactly right. Also, no one is saying this and it's pissing me off:

The only programs who are going to catch these teams are the programs that are willing to play minor league professional football.

I keep hearing 'Lack of Execution and Preparedness.' I'm honestly not seeing a huge gap in these things at Michigan versus all the other good college football teams. I'm seeing the difference in comparison to the elite teams. I guarantee you these teams are not practicing according to the same time and coaching rules we are. I guarantee their players aren't attending classes according to the same rules we are.

There was a lot more to Cardale Jones' infamous quote than just a humorous moment for us to laugh at.

Are you just an idiot.  OSU, Alabama, Clemson, LSU are not doing anything different that Michigan other than hiring the right people, getting the best recruits, and not having the arrogance of "Michigan Men".  Look at yourself and see what's wrong and then maybe it can be fixed.  We people in Columbus want Michigan to be great again.  Then kicking your ass won't seem so ordinary.

I just don’t understand the odd play calls in the first half when Shea was hot throwing and we ran back to back QB runs out of an empty backfield, or the wildcat run.  And I don’t understand the FGs when everyone knew we were going to need TDs to stay in the game.  Harbaugh coached as if it was an NFL game.  Also, hats off to Don Brown.  He said he was obsessed with this rematch after giving up 69 last year, and it cut it to 56 this year.

Fire Don Brown, and if we can get PJ Fleck, why not Fire Harbaugh too? Absolutely pathetic. We're a fucking basketball school because we cannot beat OSU and that's flatly on the coaches. We have more talent than teams that have beaten OSU in the past (Purdue, VaTech, MSU) yet we can't match their hatred and desire to beat us. Not enough alcohol in the world for this shit.

OSU lives rent-free in Michigan's head. The losing streak, all the media attention that goes with it along with the fact that Michigan knows it must play nearly perfect to beat OSU and the result is the team and coaching staff press. This leads to a plethora of back-breaking mistakes which kill any chance they have to win when Michigan has zero margin for error. Not exactly sure how to fix it (although paying some 5-stars to come to Michigan might be a start).

I agree OSU is living rent free inside Michigan’s Head. I read on here that 62 - 39 was posted everywhere during the off-season to motivate the players. Everyone seemed to think this was a good idea, but I wondered if it might have a negative impact on the guys. I get it’s supposed to piss you off, but when the rivalry has been so one-sided, it can cause you to doubt you’re ability to beat them. Especially if you fall behind. I thought it was a poor motivational tool. Did it cause them to lose today, most likely not, but I know it sure as hell didn’t help them either.
