OLSM Men's Baseball was #1 in the nation a couple years ago, and the coach is the son of former Detroit Tiger Dan Petry
From what I've heard from people who's kids go there, he was texting a 14yo female student.

When my mother was a senior in high school, she dated her 25 year old teacher. Apparently he picked a senior every year, and she was the It Girl in 1958.

my gym teacher dated and married a student (the year after she graduated) He was 24 and she was 19.... It wasn't scandalous or anything, it was a guy and a girl doing what guys and girls do. (this all happened a decade + before I got to high school, their oldest son was a year younger than me)

According to my mother, it wasn't necessarily scandalous but it was kept under wraps. He was young (25), and she turned 18 in March of senior year. So after March, there wasn't anything illegal about it. And I don't even know what the legal age was in Illinois back in 1958, either.

He'll land a job at some Christian Academy out of state within a month unless he's heading to prison. Even then 50/50 am I right? .
I learned well after graduation the shenanigans some of my teachers were pulling off in high school. There was always a rumor about teacher/student relationships but what I learned truly shocked me. The depth and frequency that it happened was remarkable.
My favorite teacher, a very well educated man, ended up leaving his wife and marrying a former student 20 years his younger he taught in school and reportedly had frequent hookups in school and during hours. They're still married 30 years later with a wonderful family but jesus H, the conversations at holidays had to be something.
